Advent Gift Box

Most of us know and love the Christmas Countdown Calendar. The exiting and magical feeling when opening a new door every day and unwrapping the gift or piece of candy inside. Yes, I still do that šŸ˜‰

In Denmark we also count the 4 Sundays before Christmas – Sunday in Advent and for some this is when they get their present. In my home my kids get to chose if they want a small thing every day until Christmas or something larger every Sunday. They’ve gone with the latter šŸ˜‰

I thought that when bringing a hostess gift along when visiting friends or Family this November, it could be a Advent Gift Box and I found just the things for it at Simply Crafty Svgs.

This is theĀ Square Candy Box. Just the perfect size for my idea šŸ™‚

I made it with AC Cardstock in Slate, White and Shrimp along with patterned paper from DCWVs Merry and Bright stack.

I needed inserts to divide it into four, so I simply adjusted the inserts and added two more to put my smallĀ Curved Treat Boxes (freebie) in.

I used the Foil Quill and cobber foil for the numbers (Silhouette Design Store ID #105652 by Sarah Hurley) and tied them onto the small boxes (downsized to 70% to fit all 4 on one piece of cardstock)

Inside the treat boxes I hid the treats šŸ˜‰ Yummy chocolate from Danish Royal Court Supplier Anton Berg.

The last thing I want to mention is the twine used to wrap around the box and the small tag that I cut out of the DCWV stack.

This surely is a bold color for Christmas but I love it and I bet whom ever gets this box is going to love it too.

I’m so sorry for the quality of the pictures but it’s practically impossible to get good lighting here in my new townhouse this time of year and I still have to get myself some professional lights – when that million bucks lands in my mailbox šŸ˜‰

Thanks for joining me today. So much fun to begin the Christmas crafting. I have soooo much I wanna make and soooo little time šŸ˜€ How about you? Have you begun your Christmas crafting yet?

Christmas Time

I want to show you what I’ve been up to this past week. It involves these:

I fell in love with them instantly and knew exactly what I wanted to used them for.

Christmas Tags for this years presents!

I used the Tag Thanks Latte and stripped away everything but the scalloped base and the inside circle.

I didn’t feel like making a very detailed tag because I felt the dome, the glitter and the small image inside the dome was details enough.

I used DCWV “Christmas Plaid” paper and Tim Holtz Ideaology Gold Kraft-Stock for the tag.

Inside the dome is a print and cut motive of pinecones with branches from Carta Bella’s “Let it Snow” collection along with Diamond Sugar Dust from Craft DĆ©cor.

I embossed and sanded the gold paper for effect and used gold twine to tie it unto the presents.

And I didn’t stop hereā€¦..

I was on a roll with these domes and decided to use them for this years place cards for the Christmas Table:

The place cards are theĀ JGW Snowflake Placecards.

They are made from Kraft Cardstock, Ideaology Gold Paper, white pearl paper and Best Creation White Glitter Paper.

Inside the dome is a print and cut from Carta Bella’s “Christmas Delivery” collection and Diamond Sugar Dust from Craft DĆ©cor. I also wrote “Merry Christmas” in Danish.

Instead of using a candy inside the tag, I used snowflake printed vellum to write the names and decorated with a border of a snowflake circle (design ID #34350) I found in the Silhouette Design Store.

Then, for a fun detail, I placed a small led light inside the tag:

It’s a bit hard to see in the picture, but it really lights up the name nicely.

As a final detail, I tied some gold tinsel on top of the place card.

And thereā€¦.I’m all set for Christmas now.

Thanks for joining me today. I’m back again next Sunday for a final Christmas project.

Come Away with Me

Happy Sunday and welcome back.

Ahhhh! – Now it’s Summer time and soon time for my annual Summer vacation. Something we treasure highly in my family as everyday can sometimes be a bit harsh due to all our challenges. So this time, once a year, we throw all our cares away, get on a plane and fly down south and this year we’ll be visiting Mallorca – the largest of the Balearic Islands, Spain. We’ve been there before but we do love this island, so we decided to go back.

The only thing I don’t look forward to is 14 days without my craftingā€¦…YIKES! Gotta smuggle something with me so I don’t go mad (Ehm….more mad šŸ˜€ )

Ok so with this in mind, I decided to make something with a travel theme and my eyes landed on the gorgeous Round Traveling Case from SVGAttic’s JGW Fashionably French kit. I’ve seen many versions of it made the last couple of months and wanted to make my own – and here it is:

I used AC Cardstock in Vanilla, Chestnut and Coffee along with the delightful Graphic 45 paper “Come Away with Me” collection that seems just right for this project.

I also used some Cricut Faux Leather for the strap, metal colored dots as nail heads and a ball chain to hold the tag and a tiny metal key.

Then I dived into my huge stash of Prima flowers and found some that matched the paper real well along with a rhinestone swirl. Finally I also found some glass cabochons to decorate with.

Such a fun project to make and the suitcase goes together so easy but looks so amazing – don’t you think? Tell me in a comment.

Thanks for stopping by today – I really hope you like my version of the suitcase.
