Time for Celebrating

Honestly – I had another plan for this blog post today – as it’s April Fools Day but it didn’t work out as planned and I don’t think anybody is really in the mood for pranks this year. So I made some pretty projects instead 🙂

April has always been a busy month in my family when it comes Birthdays or other celebrations so it’s always nice to have some cards ready.

I used to be very productive when it came to cards – always knowing a few days ahead who had a Birthday coming up, so I could mail a card but since the Postal system here in Denmark got screwed up, the postage is so high, that I can’t afford to do this anymore. It doesn’t matter cause nobody can be sure to get the card on time anyways.

So now I only make cards to accompany gifts and I like to personalize them, but it’s also great to have a few quick and easy cards ready….especially when you tend to forget the Birthdays now 😉

So I made some of Simply Crafty SVGs freebie cards to have on hand.

First of is the Layered Bunny Card:

Påske kort 1

This is such a cute card and very easy to make. I added a few extra layers as I wanted to make it in colors of the rainbow – but in pastels to fit the season.

I used AC Cardstock and a piece of black shiny paper for the face.

I accented the eyes and eggs with a white Sharpie Pen, wrote the sentiment with Sketch Pen and used a few Pop Dots on the label.

I used the cut out bunnies to make a matching Gift tag and added eyes, nose and a burlap butterfly.

Påske til og fra 1

Next is the Layered Cross Card: (freebie through April 5th.)

Konfirmationskort 2

This one will be brilliant for the upcoming Confirmations – though they seem to be held in Autumn this year to the Covid-19 Virus.

I used AC Cardstock i different shades of blue and for the top layer, I used an Embossed piece of Paper from DCWVs Stack Embossed White and inked the edges slightly.

Then I added the sentiment, which I wrote with a Sketch Pen, using Pop Dots for dimension.

I also made a Gift Tag from the cut out crosses and added some enamel dots, stickles and Glossy Accent for added interest.

Kors til og fra 2

Finally I made the Pitcher of Flowers Card:

Boks kort 3

This isn’t a freebie but if you hurry, it’s still on sale

I really love this card. It’s so beautiful with the beautiful flowers and leaves and the possibilities are endless when it comes to picking colors and papers.

I chose the gorgeous patterned paper from Graphic45s Nature Sketchbook and matching AC Cardstock.

I couldn’t find a red to match that of G45, so luckily I had the extra Pattern and Solids Pad that I used for one of the flowers.

I also added a bit of Stickles Glitter Glue to some of the berries.

Boks kort 2

As flower center I used some wooden dots from my stash. As you can see on the picture below, I only glued down the stem of the leaves in order for the leaves to be more dimensional.

Boks kort 1

Now I know this one is going to be a huge success and won’t be the last one I make for sure.

Now I’m a bit more prepared to the upcoming Celebrations here in April – I really hope I don’t forget them 😀

Thanks for joining me today – please, as always, leave a comment below.

At the End of the Rainbow…..

….is a pot of gold 🙂

This I’ve been told a million times as a kid and I’ve re-told this legend to my own kids (they’re not as gullible as their Mom 😉 )

This tale of gold is the same whether you’re from Denmark, Ireland or the USA etc. The symbol of luck – the four leaf clover – is also a international symbol.

We don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Denmark (unless you’re of Irish decent) but I still found it fun to make this pot of gold at the end of the rainbow – to pay some tribute to the Irish 🙂

Krukke med guld4

For this project I used the Witch’s Cauldron from Simply Crafty Svgs. It’s made from AC Cardstock in Black and Shamrock along with Green Glitter paper. I left out the handles on the cauldron as it’s a pot 😉

I used the Shamrock from the Leprechaun Hat Treat Box as embellishment and the rainbow is a file from Miss Kate Cuttables that I modified a bit.

I used my Cricut Maker for this project and it was because I wanted to use my new Debossing Tool. I did not over do it 😀 – just a horse shoe here and a shamrock there just to try it out. This is cool….already thinking up new projects to use it for 🙂

Krukke med guld1

Now I just waiting for the boys to come home and be the Leprechauns they usually are, stealing all the gold from the pot 😀

Krukke med guld3

I want to wish a Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all of you that celebrate.

Thanks for joining me today. It’s crazy times right now. Countries are shutting down, schools are closed and I think most people are pretty scared right now. Luckily we can’t get infected online, so it’s still safe to visit each other here 🙂 Stay safe out in the real world ❤

Coffee and Cake on the Go

A little while ago, Sandy, from Simply Crafty Svgs, designed two sizes of Takeout Coffee Cups and you know me…..I love everything Coffee ❤ so of course I had to make them…or one of them 😉

I went with the large cup:

Kaffe to go

I used AC Cardstock and patterned paper and some chipboard stickers from the Doodlebug Collection “Creme and Sugar.”

All edges are inked with distress ink for more dimension and I added a straw from American Crafts, as my cup contains Latté ;-)……

Kaffe åben

….well not quite really – it’s Coffee Bon Bons 😉

Coffee can be served alone but sometimes we do want a bit of sweet with the coffee (especially a sugar junkie like me) so I made a little Cupcake too:

Cupcake

Well it’s supposed to be a cupcake but it could look like a Soft Ice in a container too 😉

This one is made from the Milkshake file and the Leprechaun Hat Treat Box.

I simply resized the files to fit together and added some real sprinkles on top.

I didn’t glue it shut but left it open so that when you lift the Milkshake and Cream part up….

Cupcake åben

….it can be used to hide treats or a little present inside 🙂

This one is also made from AC Cardstock and Doodlebug paper + stickers.

Here’s the pair together – a cute and easy gift box set:

Kaffe og cupcake

They are adorable right? I know quite a few people whom these would be perfect for 🙂

Thanks for visiting today – did you like the projects? Would you have done them differently? What are your thoughts? Please let me know in a comment below.

Thank you ❤

Snowdrop Box Card

Here in Denmark, the first bringers of Spring is among Eranthis and Crocus the Snowdrop.

This little white bulb flower usually pops up from the dirt when the sun melts the snow (IF there’s been snow that is) like the other early Spring flowers, but this one really looks like a fairy dress to me. So delicate and beautiful – clearly my favorite!

vintergaekker-planteleksikon

As I was considering making the Orchid Box Card from Simply Crafty Svgs, I loaded the files into my Silhouette Software and started to organize the parts – as I usually do when starting a new project. That’s when I discovered it.

I noticed that I could bend one of the crown leaves of the Orchid and make it look like a Snowdrop and from there on my mind did it’s thing.

I started pulling on some of the edit point on the leaf to make the two outer parts a bit longer and more pointy. I also edited the small flower buds a bit to make the round end a bit more wavy. Finally I edited the flower stem + the one on the insert to remove the leaves.

Vintergæk box kort3

The leaves are also edited to be slimmer and longer as Snowdrop leaves are 🙂

Vintergæk box kort1

It makes more sense looking at the picture 😀

Adorable right? I doubled the stems – one of each side of the insert and doubled the flower as well to make it look more dimensional.

Then I just added the leaves to the insert and there it was 🙂

I used AC Cardstock and DCWV patterned paper from the Samantha Rose Stack. I really love the way the foiled paper looks like snow melting on dirt. For the edges I used Distress Ink. The sentiment on the card reads “Congratulations” and is made with the Print and Cut option.

Vintergæk box kort2

So now I have two options when making the Orchid/Snowdrop Box Card 🙂

Vintergæk box kort4

Let me know what you think in a comment below – I would really love to hear some opinions.

Thanks for dropping by today ❤

One Thing Led To Another…..

Having an idea of making one thing, very often leads me to other ideas.

It’s just how my brain works. Filled with thoughts, ideas, music, talk….etc. Most people know this from themselves but sometimes mine spins a whole lot faster and I really need to grab those ideas when they’re there – otherwise they diminish into oblivion forever. The big black hole as I call it 😉

This time I had set out to make an Iglo as I noticed Simply Crafty SVGs didn’t have one yet.

Not being the great math genius, I figured that a few files had to be combined for this to happen so I started searching the site and settled on elements from the Dog Dish and the Leprechaun Hat.

I took the bottom piece from the Dog Dish and the top part from the Hat and glued them together……only to discover that they did NOT make a Iglo shape.

But looking at this odd thing I had made, sent my head in a spin of ideas and here’s a few of them:

Bucket Hat or Cloche Hat:

Hat

It’s going to be to difficult to explain exactly what I did to get to this but as mentioned before I glued the two shapes from the files together and then I added panels.

These were also made from the same two files – simply by using the welding tool in the Silhouette Studio software.

How to 1

A little tweaking with the edit points and voila….perfect panel.

I used AC Cardstock and patterned paper that I printed from the Silhouette Design Studio (ID #255448 by Miss Kate Cuttables). I also added Glossy Accent from Ranger to the dots of the flowers in the paper.

Then I tied a ribbon around the hat and added a few flowers. It’s cute right?

The little Groovy sentiment/tag is from the Silhouette Design Store ID#13856 and I added a group of flowers matching the paper from Miss Kate Cuttables also from the Store ID#251605.

Next idea was given to me by a friend that saw this shape as a Blue Bell Flower:

Bordkort

I downsized all by 50% and changed the panels slightly to have a curvy bottom (no pun intended)

Again I played with the different tools in Silhouette Studio:

How to 3

To get the curve, I used one of the flowers from the Hollow Easter Egg and then I welded this cut-off piece onto the panel I made before:

How to 2

And ta’ daaa….now the panel works as a flower petal 🙂

Further more I made the top leaf out of one of the roof pieces from Spring Egg-Centric House:

How to 5

This was done by pulling and pushing on the edit points. Amazing how it can go from one shape to another 🙂

I glued that on top of the flower and cut a small slit into it to fit a name tag and now it’s a place card.

I really like this one ❤

Well…..I could go on with ideas for this shape like a Storm Trooper Helmet. But I didn’t have the patience to make that one 😉

Instead I pursued my original idea and made an Iglo but this time with the top part of the Sailor Hat:

Iglo

I used a shape tool to make the entry way but other than that it’s the same.

I used AC Cardstock and Best Creation Glitter Paper which I embossed with a brick patterned embossing folder. Not exactly the right folder, but that was what I had at hand.

I’m not going to go into details on how I struggled to make a bottom for this Iglo (and realizing that a such already existed o.O) but I’m not entirely satisfied with this Iglo. I will keep at it until I make one just right unless Sandy does the work for me 😉

Thanks for taking the wacky journey with me today. Phew….It’s kinda exhausting having this nut of a brain but also a lot of fun 🙂

Hope you’ll join me again soon ❤

Super Bowl

Now there’s a headline I never thought I’d write! 😀

I’m so not interested in watching sports what so ever. To me it’s something you do and not something you watch on TV. It’s just too boring.

Sunday February 2nd., I’m told, is Super Bowl Sunday in the US and a girlfriend of mine loves it. She’s been helping me out quite a lot with the move, so now it’s payback time 😉

I’ve made her Football stuff before but when I saw the new cool Football files from Simply Crafty Svgs, I knew I had to make them for her – so I did.

Let’s start with the smallest first – the Mini Football Treat Box (Freebie):

DSC_0004

I made two – one for my friend and one for her brother, who will be watching the game with her.

Made from Gold Glitter paper from Recollections, White Glitter paper from Craft Smith and black POW Glitter paper from AC along with a Print and Cut sentiment that I ran through my Minc to add Gold Foil. The tag is tied to the box with a piece of hemp cord.

Very easy and I’m very surprised how well the glitter paper took to the glue. Now I just have to find some little treat to put inside…..

Next is the Football Goal Post Box:

DSC_0009

This very fun and inventive treat box, is made from AC Cardstock, White Glitter paper from Recollections and Green Glitter paper from DCWV Inc + a small piece of acetate.

It was very easy to assemble and I didn’t watch the video until after I made it 😀 As you can see I did make an error but I thought the slits in the Football was to hold the acetate and not guidelines for the white end pieces. Go figure! Oh well – it works just fine 🙂

DSC_0010

The Foam Finger (ID #241075 by Photoplay) and the Pennant (ID #283540 by Lisa Norris) are both from the Silhouette Design Store. I made them as Print and Cut and ran them through the Minc to add the Gold Foil. Not perfectly covered but I blame my printer being too cheap 😀 I did make a back side too with out graphic so I could sandwich a toothpick in between.

DSC_0011

Finally for the Football Helmet:

DSC_0005

This is also a treat box and I put some crackers inside for the two to munch on.

DSC_0007

It’s made from AC Cardstock, Gold and White Glitter paper from Recollections and Black POW from AC.

I’m really surprised how easy this was to make. I did watch Sandy’s video as I believed it would be harder to assemble, but no. Very easy and such a cool design too. I’m so impressed with her inventive and amazing ideas.

I chose the gold color for the treat box and helmet as I have no idea what team she roots on, who would make it to the finals or how any of the teams’ logos look like 😀 heh heh Gold is for winners – right?

DSC_0002

These were so much fun to make and as I ran out of time, I didn’t have time to ink the edges – but you can’t really tell….or? 😉

I really hope she and her brother will love these and the goodies I’ll put inside and that they will have a cozy and enjoyable Sunday night/Monday morning 😉

Thanks for joining me today. I’ve enjoyed seeing all the Helmets and boxes already made by lots of people – hope you enjoy mine.

See you next time ❤

Happy New Year

I am so happy that you chose to join me, on this the last day of 2019.

It’s been a wild ride – this past year and I do hope that 2020 is going to bring a lot more happiness than 2019 did….for me at least. I do know of 2 very happy things that are going to happen in 2020….and I look very much forward to them! What they are, you ask?

My lips are sealed! 😀

Anyways. I just wanna use this – my last post of the year – you wish you all a very Happy New Year and I hope I’ll see you again for many fun and wacky craft projects in the new year.

I really hope I’ve succeeded in inspiring some of you and bring a little joy to the rest. I had a blast with these posts and projects and I’m not about to stop!

Sending you off into 2020 with a little easy but fun project. This is the New Year Freebie from Simply Crafty Svgs: 2020 New Years Glasses

IMG_5586

This fun and decorative file is very useful on a night like tonight. You can wear it or use it as table decoration. A very fun photo prop.

I reinforced mine by cutting 5 fronts in AC Cardstock and the number panels in DCWV patterned paper (from the Posh and Pink Stack).

I also cut 4 panel pieces of the temples both left and right (made by internally offsetting the temples without the gluing piece) plus one patterned piece of each side. (Gosh I hope that made sense) I glued two pieces on each side of the temple and the patterned piece on the outside (the one showing) – I did that on each side.

I inked all edges with Distress Ink and added a few rhinestones onto the front as showed.

Lastly I found these fun silver glitter berries in my stash and glued them onto the back of the “2’s” – just for a little fun bling bling.

Now I ready to go to my New Years party tonight and ring in the New Year.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog this year – please come back again next year 😀

HAPPY NEW YEAR ❤

Chestnuts Roasting……

Today I’m going to show you something very different from what I had prepared.

Go figure! I’ve had my eye on this Christmas Fireplace from Simply Crafty Svgs for a long time. Ever since I saw it on the draft board among other designs and I instantly knew THAT was going to be a Christmas project.

So when this was released I got busy…..REALLY busy! Barely got home from the Gym today 😀

Billede 05

I’m totally in love with this cool giftbox. Especially because – well it’s a box but also because of the awesome fireplace that lits up by a LED tea light. Such a brilliant design!

Billede 06

I made mine with AC Cardstock and patterned paper from DCWV Stack Red&White Christmas and Recollections Paper Pad Wood, Marble and Brass.

I also used a bit of vellum for the flames, that I colored with Distress Ink.

The wood logs are embossed with a wood grain embossing folder from Darice and the panels on the Mantel are embossed with an embossing folder from Sizzix.

All edges are inked with matching Distress Ink and I added small gems on the cute bows on the garland.

Finally I added a bit of Stickles on the fuzzy top of the Stockings.

I do think this is a keeper. If only I can find a spot for it 😀 Otherwise I may have to make this again in a downsized version.

Billede 04

Thank you so much for joining me today. I will show you the original intended piece another day soon.

Advent Gift Box

Most of us know and love the Christmas Countdown Calendar. The exiting and magical feeling when opening a new door every day and unwrapping the gift or piece of candy inside. Yes, I still do that 😉

In Denmark we also count the 4 Sundays before Christmas – Sunday in Advent and for some this is when they get their present. In my home my kids get to chose if they want a small thing every day until Christmas or something larger every Sunday. They’ve gone with the latter 😉

I thought that when bringing a hostess gift along when visiting friends or Family this November, it could be a Advent Gift Box and I found just the things for it at Simply Crafty Svgs.

DSC_0006

This is the Square Candy Box. Just the perfect size for my idea 🙂

I made it with AC Cardstock in Slate, White and Shrimp along with patterned paper from DCWVs Merry and Bright stack.

I needed inserts to divide it into four, so I simply adjusted the inserts and added two more to put my small Curved Treat Boxes (freebie) in.

DSC_0010

I used the Foil Quill and cobber foil for the numbers (Silhouette Design Store ID #105652 by Sarah Hurley) and tied them onto the small boxes (downsized to 70% to fit all 4 on one piece of cardstock)

Inside the treat boxes I hid the treats 😉 Yummy chocolate from Danish Royal Court Supplier Anton Berg.

DSC_0003

The last thing I want to mention is the twine used to wrap around the box and the small tag that I cut out of the DCWV stack.

This surely is a bold color for Christmas but I love it and I bet whom ever gets this box is going to love it too.

I’m so sorry for the quality of the pictures but it’s practically impossible to get good lighting here in my new townhouse this time of year and I still have to get myself some professional lights – when that million bucks lands in my mailbox 😉

Thanks for joining me today. So much fun to begin the Christmas crafting. I have soooo much I wanna make and soooo little time 😀 How about you? Have you begun your Christmas crafting yet?

Acorn House

Gone is Summer. Gone is Halloween. Soon Fall turns into Winter and before we know it, it’s Christmas.

I’ve packed away my Halloween decor to make room for Christmas and soon I will pack away my Fall decor too – but only because I haven’t got room for it. Lots of the Fall decorations can easily be used for Christmas. This cute decoration I just made definitely can!

dsc_0002 (3)

This adorable Acorn House from Simply Crafty Svgs, is one of the easiest houses I’ve ever made and still is darn cute.

I made it in the original size – very unlikely of me 😉 It’s cut on my Silhouette Cameo and I used the Solid Scorelines option. I’ve started doing that most of the time unless it’s something very small. Then it can be a pain to fold 😀

I used AC Cardstock in Coffee and Chocolate along with patterned paper from DCWVs “Cider Woods.” It’s difficult to see but the paper for the bottom is copper foiled acorns 😉 So I took a close up:

IMG_5188(Edited)

All edges are inked with Distress Ink from Tim Holtz and I used gold Vellum behind the windows and door.

The door knob is a copper colored enamel dot and I tied some raffia around the stem and added the cut-out leaves plus some small berries from my stash of nature materials.

Lastly I added a string of Fairy lights inside – the glow is fantastic ❤

Oh how I love acorns – and I usually use them to decorate for Christmas too along with pine cones and pine branches.

Well that was that – now it’s time to concentrate on Christmas 🙂 I have a lot of things I want to make and I bet I can’t fit them all inside my house 😀

Thanks for joining me today – have you started your Christmas decorating yet? Let me know in a comment below
