Can……Canoe……?

It happens to me so often. I see some new SVG files and ….BAM…. my mind starts to think up ideas on how to use them. Sometimes alternative, sometimes weird and sometimes downright crazy.

This time…..well you be the judge:

DSC_0005

This 8″ x 8″ picture or plaque is made with two new and amazing files from Simply Crafty Svg’s – namely the Soda Can and the Canoe from the Canoe Gift Box. And yes this is exactly what I imagined when I saw them.

The plaque itself is from the Silhouette Design Store (design ID #295470) and that goes for the “splash” (design ID #76959), and the puddle (design ID #48220)

I used AC Cardstock for the Can and Canoe + Bazzill Bling Cardstock for the Can. All edges are inked with Distress Ink.

The plaque is made from AC Poster Board with Wood pattern.

For the splash and puddle I used pearl paper/Majestic paper.

Finally I added a silver enamel dot on the top of the Can, a few Rocks along the lake shore and made some drops here and there with Ranger Glossy Accents.

I downsized the Can to 75% and the Canoe to 25% That is very small! The rocks on the shore are granite chippings from my drive way. Almost too small to assemble with my fat fingers 😀

DSC_0008

I found the Quote online and made it with the Print ‘n Cut function on my Silhouette and last but not least the label on the Can is also made with Print ‘n Cut and the file is also from the Silhouette Design Store (design ID #20891)

Well – that’s it. So now you get to tell me if I’m artsy or just plain crazy…. 😀 – just in a comment below ❤

Thanks for visiting – be back soon I hope. I’m moving very very soon but the first thing to get unpacked and ready is my craft space 😀

I wish…..

Ahhhh nothing like waking up in the morning, all is quiet and calm and after a few stretches, you quietly get out of bed – feeling refreshed and ready to take on a new and exciting day. It’s Summer….the Sun is shining from a cloudless blue sky and the birds are singing…..<3

BUT…..is this really happening?

Not in my house! Usually I wake and feel every tiny cell of my body aching and I’m as tired as an old Sloth (and moving at about the same pace as such). The house is in ruins after the kids stayed up late yet again during this Summer holiday and the kitchen is filled with dirty plates etc.

The only solution: Coffee and crafting and this happens:

DSC_0020

This awesome Latte Box Card from Simply Crafty Svgs, is the perfect way to craft your way out of the Summer Holiday blues.

Made with AC Cardstock in Latte, Caramel and Coffee (duh) and decorated with a coffee bean patterned paper + a sentiment made with the WRMK Foil Quill.

DSC_0021

I also used the quill on the coffee steam and finally I changed the pattern on the panels with coffee beans that I found in the Silhouette Design Store (design ID #55733 by Jennifer Wambach)

The envelop is made with a single sheet of the coffee patterned paper to match.

Thanks for joining me today – I bet a lot of you know what I’m talking about – let me know in a comment below.

I still wish this coffee was as big as my butt…..*SIGH*

Summer Party

With Summer’s lovely warm weather, comes the time for garden or pool parties. It’s so much fun to make decorations for such – coming up with new ways to set the table etc.

So I thought that the fun and cute little boxes from Simply Crafty Svgs‘ Surf ‘n Swim Box Set would be perfect decorations on the table and as they are tall, they’re perfects for cutlery:

DSC_0013

Fun fact: When wanting to find cutlery for this picture, I used half a day to search for wooden cutlery as they are more eco-friendly than the plastic ones. And what do I do? Spoil all the eco-friendly-ness by decorating with plastic straws – so sorry for that 😀

Let’s start off with the Swim Suit Box:

DSC_0018

I used AC Cardstock in Black, Taffy, Apricot, Lemon, Goldfish and Moss along with patterned paper from DCWV’s “Electric Jungle” Stack.

The cute Hibiscus flowers is found in the Silhouette Design Store design ID #62344 (by Amy Robison) and the leaves are design ID #1696 (by Silhouette)

And voila – one box down 🙂 (and the Tucan looks like he flew away or lost his colors – darn shiny paper)

Next is the Board Shorts Box:

DSC_0017

Here I used AC Cardstock in Taffy, Lemon, White and Moss and the patterned paper is from the same DCWV Stack.

Cute right? And so easy!

Finally the Surf Board Box:

DSC_0015

This is properbly the most tricky one of the three even though none of them are hard to make.

I used AC Cardstock in White, Apricot, Surf and Turf. The patterned paper is still the same from DCWV 😉 but I also used some sand patterned paper from another DCWV Stack – Coastal.

I also used an Embossing folder with a rind pattern. Not sure what brand it is – sorry.

Now these are just waiting for the party to begin 🙂

Are you having an outdoor party this summer? If so – what theme? Tell me all about it in a comment below.

Thanks for stopping by ❤

Vacation Time

Yay! It’s finally Summer and in just a little while, my Family and I are going on our annual Summer Holiday.

I can’t wait! We’re off to Croatia this year and that means we MUST go to Dubrovnik to see where they shot “The Red Keep” in Game of Thrones.” Yes – we are all GOT nerds 😀

We’re staying at a Campsite/Resort in Istria but in a “luxury” Mobilhome (yeah not having the best of luck on those but we’re trying it one more time).

I’ve always loved camping and went several times a year as a child, as my Grandparents had a trailer residence on a campsite near the German border.

But don’t get me started on those stories – I tend to ramble 😉

This whole Vacation thing is the reason I decided to make THIS project with files from Simply Crafty SVGs:

DSC_0006

I started out with the Teardrop Trailer Box made from AC Cardstock in Key Lime, Pool, Black, and Taffy and decorated with patterned paper from DCWV “Bahama Mama”

DSC_0008

All edges are inked with Distress ink in matching colors and the flamingo (Silhouette Design Store ID #75285 by Echo Park) foiled with the WRMK Foil Quill  – the foil is from Couture Creations.  It’s kinda hard to see, but the paper also has foil dots in the same pink color.

This trailer is very easy to make, but be sure to follow the instructions! I didn’t at first and had to make it all over again.

The trailer doesn’t get around on it’s own so I had to make a car. And what better than the little cutie freebie Treatmobile:

DSC_0007

This little darling actually looks a bit like my own car (Fiat 500C) and it’s made from AC Cardstock in Taffy and Black and decorated with the same DCWV paper.

I also made two surf boards to fit inside the car (somebody is headed for the Beach it seems) They are from the Surfer’s Paradise Card and both are made with AC Cardstock in Lemon, Pool, Taffy, Apricot and Butter.

Finally I made the Raft from the Pool Box (see the first picture) I made it from AC Cardstock in Lemon and inked it with Distress ink.

It fits perfectly inside the Trailer and now this family is ready to head off on Vacation – and so is mine 😉

Thanks for visiting today – please leave a comment below. Maybe you’ve been to Croatia and have ideas for what to see???? I’d love to hear all about it.

Until next time – Happy Crafting and remember to enjoy some time outside the craftroom too 😉

The Latest Buzz

The Sun has been out most of the day today but I’ve been a buzzzzy bee 😉

Last week, Sandy of Simply Crafty Svgs, released a new darling collection with a Bee theme and I just had to make some of the items from it 🙂

Bees are darn right cute and adorable – especially the cartoony ones 😉 They are also extremely important for our environment. Sadly they are about to go extinct due to poisons released by humans on crops. But that is a whole other story….not a pleasant one 😦

Let’s stick to the adorable cute bees, buzzing happily around from flower to flower, gathering pollen to make yummy Honey.

First of is the darling Bee Hive:

DSC_0007

This Royal Bee home is made from AC Cardstock in Butter, Coffee, Blush, Spearmint, Melon and Chestnut.

I used a Sizzix Honeycomb embossing folder on the panels and decorated with patterned paper from DCWV Samantha Rose. I also used some Rose Gold Glitter paper for the flower stamens as well as the little crown (found in the Silhouette Design Store design ID #10713 by Alaa’K) on the bee’s head. All edges are inked with Distress Ink in matching colors as well as highlighting the Honeycomb pattern.

DSC_0010

Furthermore I used some wood patterned paper from the same DCWV stack on the base of the Hive.

Now to wait for darkness so I can see it lit up by a LED candle 🙂

It’s a bit of a time consuming project but it’s so worth it and if you’re making more than one, you’ll get the hang of it and be done a lot quicker. Especially the little bee takes some time but GOSH she is so adorable ❤

DSC_0008

I used ordinary vellum for the wings and embossed them with a Cuttlebug Twig patterned embossing folder and for her eyes I used some tiny black enamel dots from my stash.

Next up is the Honey Jar:

DSC_0015

Following the same colors as before, this is made in AC Cardstock Butter, Spearmint and Latte.

I decorated with the same DCWV stack – Samantha Rose – and used the same embossing folder on the yellow panels as well as the same Distress Ink.

Furthermore I used my Foil Quill to write “Honey” on the label using Rose Gold Foil from Couture Creations and tied a hemp cord around the jar.

DSC_0013

Finally I added three tiny enamel dots on the lid.

DSC_0014

This one is a lot faster to make and is very easy – and what a pretty jar to give away as a hostess gift or as gift wrapping 🙂

Here’s the Hive and Jar together:

DSC_0005

That was it for me today – now to relax a tiny bit before bedtime – I’ve have been quite buzy 😉

Thanks for visiting. I do hope you’ll leave me a small comment below – I really love the feedback ❤

Simply Colorful

It’s no secret that I love colors – the more the better. I really wish I could wear the rainbow (no litterally 😀 ) but unfortunately not all colors look good on a pale Scandinavian woman (girl! – I meant girl! 😀 ) like me.

I just have to surround myself with colors instead – hence the colorful projects I’ve made over time 😉

When I decided to make the Simple Elegance Lantern from Simply Crafty Svgs, I did have another theme in mind.

I’ve been hoarding DCWV stacks lately and I wanted to make the lantern as a beach/sea theme and had the perfect papers picked out but then it hit me…..

….the Kaleidoscope paper from Graphic 45 ❤

And so be it:

DSC_0120

What a color explosion! I really really love this paper and the lantern kinda looks a bit like it’s wearing a Witch’s hat 😀

The lantern itself is made of Black AC Cardstock and decorated with the Kaleidoscope paper. It it very easy to make – I did it without the tutorial this time.

All edges are inked with Distress Ink in coordinating colors and I found some matching flowers and gems from Prima in my stash.

A cool and bit wacky lantern but I really dig it.

It’s also very cool at night with some colored lights inside:

Thank you so much for joining me today – as always I really appreciate a comment below….maybe writing a suggestion on what I should make next?

Have a wonderful day ❤

Eggs-Quisite Eggs

Last year, I went crazy around Easter and made SO much Easter decor that not a single place in my house is vacant – so this year I thought I’d cool it a bit 😉

Didn’t really plan on making anything BUT then one after another started popping up – gorgeous, darling and delicious Easter Eggs. So I thought: What the heck – I can always give them away…..that is if I can part with them.

So I made 4 different Easter Eggs. This might just take a while – so go get a nice cuppa, maybe a cookie or a biscuit and get comfy 😉

I usually stay pretty loyal to a paper pack when making a project like this but this time is going to be different. I want to flaunt some of the amazing papers outthere 🙂

Starting with the cute and somewhat different Hollow Easter Egg from Simply Crafty Svgs:

DSC_0018

This is made from AC Cardstock in Vanilla and decorated with Bloom patterned paper from Graphic 45.

DSC_0020

I found a vine in the Silhouette Design Store design #26976 (designed by Jennifer Wambach) and added several Prima flowers and some gems onto the egg as well.

Then I raided my stash for something cute to put inside on the ledge and found several Tim Holtz items that does the trick – gives it a spring-y and natural feel to it.

I also played a bit with the egg design and made another version without the ledge:

DSC_0021

This is also made from Vanilla Cardstock and Bloom papers.

The vine around the hole is made from design #126611 (designed by Sophie Gallo) in the Silhouette Design Store and the vine inside the egg is design #7320 (designed by Samantha Walker) from the same store.

DSC_0023

Then I embellished with several Prima flowers, a few gems and a LED light – Voila!

DSC_0026

Find the tutorial to the egg here.

DSC_0014

Next is the Gouden Ei (Golden Egg) from Creatieve Papier Uitspattigen:

DSC_0012

This is made from White AC Cardstock and decorated with patterned paper from DCWV’s Unicorns & Rainbows collection + gold glitter paper from Vivi Gade.

This is one of their easier designs and it goes together perfectly and easily but with help from the Video Tutorial.

I added pieces of a rhinestone chain, from my stash, onto the egg with hot glue and embellished with a Prima butterfly.

DSC_0010

This is a box and opens up by lifting the egg shell – room for lots of chocolates 😀

DSC_0010

Then I made the Egg 3D Form Multi Diamonds from Jodi Warner/Snapdragon Snippets found the Silhouette Design Store design #291232:

DSC_0006

This is a closed egg and is designed to either stand alone or be made with a small stub so it’ll fit in the candle stands that Jodi also designed – I decided that I wanted it to stand alone. Find the tutorial here.

I used AC Cardstock in White for the egg itself and decorated with glitter paper in various colors for a kind of Harlekin effect.

I also added some small and large rhinestones as embellishments and topped it all of with a Prima butterfly.

I regretted that I hadn’t made it with the stub, so I might make three new eggs like this and decorate my candle stands.

Finally I made the Eggs-Quisite Gift Box from Dreaming Tree:

DSC_0012

This elegant gift box is part of a bundle – Easter Time – with several adorable Easter projects. Find the tutorial for the egg here.

I used AC Cardstock in White, Rosebud, Olive, Scarlet, Peach and Plum along with patterned paper from Prima’s Lavender Frost Collection, Rose Gold Mercury Glass Paper from DCWV and Rose Gold glitter paper from DCWV.

I found some bling-y ribbon/chain and added it with hot glue and topped it all of with a pearl embellishment from a Hat Pin.

This one will also hold an insane amount of chocolate so you might want to fill it with a bit of tissue paper before filling it 😉

DSC_0016

So that is what I made for Easter this year – don’t really know if I can part with them….we’ll see 😀

Thanks for sticking with me through this rather long post (so sorry) and please remember how excited I get when reading your lovely comments below 😉

Happy Easter ❤

Little Red Easter Wagon

Hello and Happy Monday…..Happy Spring and Happy Easter 🙂

Today I want to show you a small and very easy but adorable project I made using the Little Wagon file from Simply Crafty Svgs.

DSC_0004

It’s made from AC Cardstock in Crimson, Black and White and I decorated the wheels with small red dots from Simple Stories.

It’s unbelievable easy to assemble and it even has it’s own tutorial video.

I decorated mine for Easter with some chocolate eggs and flowers from my stash but I can imagine lots of other purposes for this cutie – like a place card for a kid’s Birthday (downsized to 75% or 50%) or maybe for Halloween with a skull or a pumpkin in it.

Thanks for joining me today. I really appreciate you stopping by and would love it if you would leave me small comment below – maybe with more fun ideas on how to use the file?

Happy Easter ❤

Easter Basket

Each year – or almost each year 😉 – I make some small Easter treat holders for my nephews and niece. This year will be no different.

I seek out something I haven’t made before and this year I’m making the adorable Easter Basket from Simply Crafty Svgs:

DSC_0004

This basket can be made by anyone (with a digital cutting machine of course) – it is so easy to assemble. The hardest part is choosing the paper 😉

I made it from AC Cardstock in Vanilla and decorated with patterned paper from Graphic 45’s “Sweet Sentiments.” All edges are inked with a light brown Distress Ink pad.

I also found some small flowers in matching colors in my stash…..

DSC_0005

…..and added a little cute picture inside the basket, that shows when the eggs are eaten.

DSC_0008

Luckily I was able to find chocolate/marzipan eggs in matching colors too 😀

I hope this year’s treat with bring joy as the others did – this crazy aunt just loves to spoil those kids….Ehm…young adults 😉

Here’s a 360 view:

Thanks for stopping by today 🙂 I really hope you’ll leave a little comment below and that you’ll visit soon again. I’m just getting started 😉

Cheers

The Spring months of March, April and May are Birthday months among our Family and friends – so they are busy months for me 🙂 And I don’t mind 🙂

I love creating stuff for others and especially if I can give the things I’m making a personal touch. Something special for the recipient 🙂

This Sunday we celebrate my hubby and besides the love for Pokémon hunting and football/soccer, he loves beer. So what more natural than to make a beer themed Birthday present for him 😀

I started out with the Beer Growler from Simply Crafty Svgs:

DSC_0006

This large container is made from AC Cardstock in Chocolate and decorated with gold foiled paper and a print and cut label I threw together.

I am very surprised how easy this growler was to make and it’s huge! No worrying about if the gift will fit inside – it will 😀

Then I made the Beer Glas also from Simply Crafty Svgs:

DSC_0010

This perfectly shaped, yummy, foaming beer glas is made from AC Cardstock in Canary, Sunflower and Vanilla.

I used two different Cuttlebug embossing folders with bubbles – one with big bubbles for the foam lid and one with small random bubbles for the glas panels.

I also inked the panels on both the lid and the glas with Distress Ink in Dried Marigold.

This glas is also rather large, very easy to make and will fit part of his present too.

Now all that’s left to do is buy the presents and wrap everything in cellophane (maybe)

DSC_0001

Thank you so much for joining me today – please feel free to leave a little message for me below and have a fantastic day ❤

……will be back real soon with another Birthday project 😉
