Floral Therapy

Hello again and welcome back ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes! I finished myย Floral Arrangement from the amazing bundleย Alluring Florals by Dreaming Tree.

It did take me some time – partly because I was a bit intimidated by it and partly because life happened ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m not good with flowers – I usually leave that to my sister with the green fingers and an amazing eye for arranging flowers, but I want to learn. I’m the kind of “if-you’re-not-good-at-it-get-better”-type of person ๐Ÿ˜€

So I took my time and made the arrangement. And yes…..it is therapy. All the inking and shaping – it takes time but is very relaxing and meditative ๐Ÿ™‚

And this is how it came out:

For the planter I used AC Cardstock in Vanilla and Spinach along with patterned paper from Graphic 45s “Floral Shoppe” – I’m crazy about that quote: “The Earth laughs in Flowers” ๐Ÿ™‚

For the Fantasy Flowers I used AC Cardstock in Mint and Orchid and inked the edges with VersaMagic Multi-Surface Chalk Ink in Purple Hydrangea.

For the Mum I used AC Cardstock in Cantaloupe, Bubblegum and Spinach and inked all the edges with matching chalk ink from Ingvild Bolme.

The Iris is made from AC Cardstock in Pansy, Cantaloupe and Mint and chalked with VersaMagic Multi-Surface Chalk Ink in “Pretty Petunia” and Chalk ink from Ingvild Bolme in matching colors.

The rose is made from AC Cardstock in Peach, Banana and Spinach and is inked with Ingvild Bolme Chalk ink in matching colors.

I couldn’t find the right paper wrapped floral stems, so I made my own from paper wrapped 18 gauge floral stems for sugar flowers and 4 pieces of Wine Twist Tie and then wrapped them in floral tape. Works just fine ๐Ÿ™‚

I would love to be able to just arrange the flowers in some kind of wild arrangement but I simply followed Leo’s directions in theย tutorial just to be safe ๐Ÿ˜€ and added Artificial Baby’s Breath where I liked it to be.

So now that that is finished, I’m moving on to the Gardenias and hope that my idea for them works out – more on that in a later post.

Thanks for joining me today – I really appreciate when you write me a small comment to let me know if you liked what I made or if you have any questions to the projects or just want to say hi โค

Springtime in the Netherlands

…..I can only imagine it. All those tulips! And windmills….andย water channels. I was lucky to visit close to Amsterdam this winter but I would really love to go now to see all of the gorgeous signs of Spring.

Well….I can’t go because I can’t afford it but I can bring a little bit of the Netherlands into my living room with this next project I made from SnapDragon Snippets. The files are also available in the Silhouette Design Store.

Wooden Shoe 3D Container withย Cubic 3D Tulips (just used the tulips and leaves)

This cutie is made from AC Cardstock in Caramel, Cotton Candy, Banana, Rosebud, Apricot, Vanilla, Cranberry, Mulberry, Boysenberry, Lemon, Olive, Spinach and Mustard. It is decorated with wood patterned cardstock in Kraft also from AC and Graphic 45s Floral Shoppe.

The shoe I kept in the original size but the tulips are downsized by 50%.

I used wooden skewers as stems and attached the flower heads and the leaves with floral tape. Then I added some flower foam and Spanish Moss into the shoe and stuck in the tulips and the leaves.

It is so easy to make – a bit time consuming with all the tulips, but it’s really not that bad.

All edges are inked with Ingvild Bolme Chalk Ink Pads from Prima.

I am so pleased with how this turned out ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you like it too – tell me in a comment please and thanks for joining me today ๐Ÿ™‚
