Summer is gone…..

….but that doesn’t prevent me from making something Summery 🙂

I came across this cool design from Ezansa Cutting Files on Etsy. It’s called Bungalow Stilt Box and it sure is Summery:

It really reminds me of some of all the Bungalows/Mobile Homes we have been living in on our Summer Vacations through the years and that Dock is so perfect. I only regret not having made a small boat for it too.

I made mine in 50% of the original as usual 😉 but it still works as a small gift box.

I used AC Cardstock along with patterned papers from DCWVs Coastal Stack. That gorgeous shimmer on the roof panels is incredible ❤

I inked all edges with Distress Ink in matching colors and decorated with Prima Flowers, a woodchip embellishment I found in my stash and two starfish also from my stash

I rubbed some greenish ink onto the bottom of the pillars to resemble algee but it doesn’t show much in the bright sunlight 😉

I’m definitely going to check out more of her files on Etsy and I think you should too. She just started her business I’m told so I bet there’s going to be much more to play with soon.

Thanks for joining me today. It’s a really beautiful day here in Randers, so I’m going to go outside on my pattio and enjoy the sun. Maybe Summer isn’t gone just yet 😉

Summer Party

With Summer’s lovely warm weather, comes the time for garden or pool parties. It’s so much fun to make decorations for such – coming up with new ways to set the table etc.

So I thought that the fun and cute little boxes from Simply Crafty Svgs‘ Surf ‘n Swim Box Set would be perfect decorations on the table and as they are tall, they’re perfects for cutlery:

Fun fact: When wanting to find cutlery for this picture, I used half a day to search for wooden cutlery as they are more eco-friendly than the plastic ones. And what do I do? Spoil all the eco-friendly-ness by decorating with plastic straws – so sorry for that 😀

Let’s start off with the Swim Suit Box:

I used AC Cardstock in Black, Taffy, Apricot, Lemon, Goldfish and Moss along with patterned paper from DCWV’s “Electric Jungle” Stack.

The cute Hibiscus flowers is found in the Silhouette Design Store design ID #62344 (by Amy Robison) and the leaves are design ID #1696 (by Silhouette)

And voila – one box down 🙂 (and the Tucan looks like he flew away or lost his colors – darn shiny paper)

Next is the Board Shorts Box:

Here I used AC Cardstock in Taffy, Lemon, White and Moss and the patterned paper is from the same DCWV Stack.

Cute right? And so easy!

Finally the Surf Board Box:

This is properbly the most tricky one of the three even though none of them are hard to make.

I used AC Cardstock in White, Apricot, Surf and Turf. The patterned paper is still the same from DCWV 😉 but I also used some sand patterned paper from another DCWV Stack – Coastal.

I also used an Embossing folder with a rind pattern. Not sure what brand it is – sorry.

Now these are just waiting for the party to begin 🙂

Are you having an outdoor party this summer? If so – what theme? Tell me all about it in a comment below.

Thanks for stopping by ❤

From the Sea

It’s been a rainy day today. All day. Hasn’t stopped yet.

I don’t mind because that means I don’t have to feel guilty to lock myself in my craft room and do what I enjoy the most…..paper crafting.

I made something I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time and I had just the perfect paper for it.

This Sailboat – Zeilboot is from the Dutch webshop Creatieve Papier Uitspattigen and is not only a boat but also a box.

It’s very easy to make (there’s a picture tutorial enclosed in the file), weighs practically nothing and isn’t too large.

I made mine from AC Cardstock in Turf and White along with patterned paper from DCWV “Costal” and some pearl paper. I inked the edges with Distress Ink in a brown color.

I decorated with a few Prima flowers and some Prima gems + pearls.

She is a thing of beauty and is ready to sail out into the world – wonder where she’ll go?

When deciding on which of the papers in the stack I would use, I was inspired by one of the pictures on the front of the stack – had to do this!

This is the Crate from the Caramel Apple Pie kit by SVG Cuts. Just perfect for all those beach tresures you find in Summer.

It’s made from AC Cardstock in White and more papers from the “Costal” stack.

I inked all edges with Distress ink in a brown nuance and embossed the rectangular side panels with a wood grain embossing folder from Darice.

I also cut out some words from the stack and adhered them onto the front with pop dots.

Finally I decorated the crate with a few flowers and gems from Prima and added some small “nail heads” to the side planks and the wording.

Although you can’t really tell from the picture, this gorgeous beach themed paper from DCWV has several sheets with pearl accents and it’s so beautiful. Used some on the sides of the crate and also on the inside front and back pieces.

It’s still raining outside – will properbly continue all night. I didn’t get my steps in either. I don’t care. I spent my day making a Summery project so I had lots of sunshine in my room 🙂 Don’t they just look perfect together?
