From the Sea

It’s been a rainy day today. All day. Hasn’t stopped yet.

I don’t mind because that means I don’t have to feel guilty to lock myself in my craft room and do what I enjoy the most…..paper crafting.

I made something I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time and I had just the perfect paper for it.

This Sailboat – Zeilboot is from the Dutch webshop Creatieve Papier Uitspattigen and is not only a boat but also a box.

DSC_0002

It’s very easy to make (there’s a picture tutorial enclosed in the file), weighs practically nothing and isn’t too large.

I made mine from AC Cardstock in Turf and White along with patterned paper from DCWV “Costal” and some pearl paper. I inked the edges with Distress Ink in a brown color.

DSC_0008

I decorated with a few Prima flowers and some Prima gems + pearls.

DSC_0010

She is a thing of beauty and is ready to sail out into the world – wonder where she’ll go?

When deciding on which of the papers in the stack I would use, I was inspired by one of the pictures on the front of the stack – had to do this!

DSC_0018

This is the Crate from the Caramel Apple Pie kit by SVG Cuts. Just perfect for all those beach tresures you find in Summer.

It’s made from AC Cardstock in White and more papers from the “Costal” stack.

I inked all edges with Distress ink in a brown nuance and embossed the rectangular side panels with a wood grain embossing folder from Darice.

I also cut out some words from the stack and adhered them onto the front with pop dots.

DSC_0022

Finally I decorated the crate with a few flowers and gems from Prima and added some small “nail heads” to the side planks and the wording.

DSC_0026

Although you can’t really tell from the picture, this gorgeous beach themed paper from DCWV has several sheets with pearl accents and it’s so beautiful. Used some on the sides of the crate and also on the inside front and back pieces.

It’s still raining outside – will properbly continue all night. I didn’t get my steps in either. I don’t care. I spent my day making a Summery project so I had lots of sunshine in my room 🙂 Don’t they just look perfect together?

Eggs-Quisite Eggs

Last year, I went crazy around Easter and made SO much Easter decor that not a single place in my house is vacant – so this year I thought I’d cool it a bit 😉

Didn’t really plan on making anything BUT then one after another started popping up – gorgeous, darling and delicious Easter Eggs. So I thought: What the heck – I can always give them away…..that is if I can part with them.

So I made 4 different Easter Eggs. This might just take a while – so go get a nice cuppa, maybe a cookie or a biscuit and get comfy 😉

I usually stay pretty loyal to a paper pack when making a project like this but this time is going to be different. I want to flaunt some of the amazing papers outthere 🙂

Starting with the cute and somewhat different Hollow Easter Egg from Simply Crafty Svgs:

DSC_0018

This is made from AC Cardstock in Vanilla and decorated with Bloom patterned paper from Graphic 45.

DSC_0020

I found a vine in the Silhouette Design Store design #26976 (designed by Jennifer Wambach) and added several Prima flowers and some gems onto the egg as well.

Then I raided my stash for something cute to put inside on the ledge and found several Tim Holtz items that does the trick – gives it a spring-y and natural feel to it.

I also played a bit with the egg design and made another version without the ledge:

DSC_0021

This is also made from Vanilla Cardstock and Bloom papers.

The vine around the hole is made from design #126611 (designed by Sophie Gallo) in the Silhouette Design Store and the vine inside the egg is design #7320 (designed by Samantha Walker) from the same store.

DSC_0023

Then I embellished with several Prima flowers, a few gems and a LED light – Voila!

DSC_0026

Find the tutorial to the egg here.

Next is the Gouden Ei (Golden Egg) from Creatieve Papier Uitspattigen:

DSC_0012

This is made from White AC Cardstock and decorated with patterned paper from DCWV’s Unicorns & Rainbows collection + gold glitter paper from Vivi Gade.

This is one of their easier designs and it goes together perfectly and easily but with help from the Video Tutorial.

I added pieces of a rhinestone chain, from my stash, onto the egg with hot glue and embellished with a Prima butterfly.

DSC_0010

This is a box and opens up by lifting the egg shell – room for lots of chocolates 😀

DSC_0010

Then I made the Egg 3D Form Multi Diamonds from Jodi Warner/Snapdragon Snippets found the Silhouette Design Store design #291232:

DSC_0006

This is a closed egg and is designed to either stand alone or be made with a small stub so it’ll fit in the candle stands that Jodi also designed – I decided that I wanted it to stand alone. Find the tutorial here.

I used AC Cardstock in White for the egg itself and decorated with glitter paper in various colors for a kind of Harlekin effect.

I also added some small and large rhinestones as embellishments and topped it all of with a Prima butterfly.

I regretted that I hadn’t made it with the stub, so I might make three new eggs like this and decorate my candle stands.

Finally I made the Eggs-Quisite Gift Box from Dreaming Tree:

DSC_0012

This elegant gift box is part of a bundle – Easter Time – with several adorable Easter projects. Find the tutorial for the egg here.

I used AC Cardstock in White, Rosebud, Olive, Scarlet, Peach and Plum along with patterned paper from Prima’s Lavender Frost Collection, Rose Gold Mercury Glass Paper from DCWV and Rose Gold glitter paper from DCWV.

I found some bling-y ribbon/chain and added it with hot glue and topped it all of with a pearl embellishment from a Hat Pin.

This one will also hold an insane amount of chocolate so you might want to fill it with a bit of tissue paper before filling it 😉

DSC_0016

So that is what I made for Easter this year – don’t really know if I can part with them….we’ll see 😀

Thanks for sticking with me through this rather long post (so sorry) and please remember how excited I get when reading your lovely comments below 😉

Happy Easter ❤

Lighthouse Island

Today I want to share a little project I made for my living room.

Lately I’ve been downsizing practically everything I make, due to lack of storage space but also for the fun and challenge of working with something so small.

This time I wanted to make the Lighthouse and the Lighthouse Keeper’s Quarters from the Seaside kit by SVGCuts in 50% of the originals. I also wanted to make the cute little rowboat (minus the box) from the Picnic In The Park kit.

So I began and things just evolved…….

The Lighthouse:

DSC_0006

This is made from AC Cardstock in Vanilla and Gold Fish and decorated with patterned paper from Graphic 45’s Sunkissed Collection.

I embossed the middle panels with a Cottage stone-patterned embossing folder from Crafters Companion and tied a hemp cord around the base.

I also added some Prima flowers in matching colors and a tiny seahorse bead.

DSC_0023

On top I added a ball chain with small metal sea shells and inside the tower I put a tiny LED light (not so visible in daylight but powerful at night). I also added a LED light inside the Lighthouse.

The Lighthouse Keeper’s Quarters:

DSC_0008

This tiny house is made from AC Cardstock in Denim, Ocean, Vanilla and Carrot and decorated with Graphic 45 “Sunkissed”.

The door is embossed with a woodgrain-patterned embossing folder from Crafters Companion and the door knob is a small green enamel dot from my stash. I also added three other dots on the roof for a little fun effect.

The roof is embossed with a fish scale embossing folder – seriously can’t remember from where I got it – sorry! :-/

DSC_0016

I wanted to make a small stone path down to the dock so I used some small plastic pellets and glued them onto the base.

I also decorated with a tiny metal key, a small starfish and a metal flower – all from my pretty large stash.

DSC_0020

Here’s view from above – just look at that cool roof!

The Rowboat:

DSC_0010

This one I made in 33% of the original so it’s very tiny!

I used AC Cardstock in Ocean, Denim, Carrot and Vanilla and decorated with “Sunkissed” paper.

I also found a tiny metal lantern for the boat so it can be seen in the dark 😉

The Anchor is made from Bazzill Bling Cardstock in Tungsten and I glued 6 pieces together to make it look heavy and sturdy.

DSC_0019

Finally I made a path from the Lighthouse to the Quarters by gluing some Frosted Mica flakes from Finnabair onto the base.

I also decorated with more Prima flowers, a Compass from Ideaology and a few trinkets.

And here’s the entire project in one picture:

DSC_0026

I got the cliff base from a Iglo file from Creatieve Papier Uitspattigen and I think it works just fine even though it’s meant to be an ice shelf.

It’s made from AC Cardstock in Charcoal, Concrete and Leaf and is kept in the original size.

If I was to make it again, I would design some small support boxes to put inside each box as it tends to sink a bit in the middle.

My vision: ……..LOL 😀

(the video is made on my phone with a special app – the light in the top of the Lighthouse does unfortunately not spin like that. It’s only a special effect)

Well – what do you think? Please tell me in a comment below 🙂

Thank you so much for visiting me today ❤

Breakfast at…..

…..Müllers 😀

Hiya – soo good of you to drop by today as I invite you to breakfast here at my house.

I’ll be serving the traditional feast of Bacon and Eggs along with some nice hot toasts and a cup of coffee. Sounds good? Well here we go:

Always coffee first:

DSC_0006

This is a cute coffee cup from Creatieve Papier Uitspattingen – a new (for me) place with SVG’s that I recently found.

I made the cup with AC Cardstock in Vanilla and decorated it with patterned paper from Graphic 45’s “Home Sweet Home”.

I filled a bag with coffee beans and put it in and if these were made of chocolate, it would be ready to give away as a small hostess gift.

Next is the food:

DSC_0008

This is also from Creatieve Papier Uitspattigen – except the bacon which I found in the Silhouette Design Store design #4747.

The egg is part of a freebie with a cute frying pan. I couldn’t get the pan assembled so instead I scaled up the saucer from above and turned it into a dinner plate.

It’s also made from AC Cardstock in Vanilla and decorated with Graphic 45 paper.

The Egg and bacon are also made from AC Cardstock in White, Melon, Brown Sugar, Chocolate and Caramel.

I inked the edges of the egg whites to make them look a bit fried 😉 Yummy

Finally we need the toats:

DSC_0010

Yeah….WOW…..it looks totally real! Find it here.

This toaster is made from AC Cardstock in Black and decorated with silver metal cardstock and a tiny enamel dot on the regulator.

The toasts are made from AC Cardstock in Brown Sugar and Caramel and inked heavily with a brown ink pad from Ingvild Bolme.

And here is the complete breakfast setting:

DSC_0004

So I will see you later….I promise to serve you some hot coffee and not just the beans 😀

Thanks for stopping by today – I hope you enjoyed your meal and that you’ll come back to visit real soon ❤
