Challenge Card

Just popping in to show the card I made for the March Stack-a-holic challenge from DCWV.

I really like a good challenge to push myself further, cross boundaries and use new or old techniques so these monthly challenges are very welcomed πŸ™‚

Usually these Stack-a-holic challenges have a sketch for you to follow – this is this month’s sketch:

I try to follow the sketch as much as possible but at the same time I like to think outside the box.

Here’s my entry:

SAH Kort Marts 201

The card base, one flag and the shaker box frame is made from AC Cardstock. The rest is patterned paper from the Preserved Papers Stack by DCWV.

I distressed the edges of all the panels and fussy cut the butterflies.

I added some glitter and gold music notes to the shaker and places a few resin roses and enamels dots here and there.

The rose leaves are from the Silhouette Design Store design ID #200492 by Alaa’ K and I cut them in green pearl paper.

I hope you like this card and I would really love if you would goΒ here and cast you vote on my card simply by liking it. The prize is a new stack from DCWV and since the new ones aren’t available here in Denmark or Europe, I would really love to win one.

Thank you so much ❀ and remember to stay safe πŸ™‚

The Latest Buzz

The Sun has been out most of the day today but I’ve been a buzzzzy bee πŸ˜‰

Last week, Sandy of Simply Crafty Svgs, released a new darling collection with a Bee theme and I just had to make some of the items from it πŸ™‚

Bees are darn right cute and adorable – especially the cartoony ones πŸ˜‰ They are also extremely important for our environment. Sadly they are about to go extinct due to poisons released by humans on crops. But that is a whole other story….not a pleasant one 😦

Let’s stick to the adorable cute bees, buzzing happily around from flower to flower, gathering pollen to make yummy Honey.

First of is the darlingΒ Bee Hive:

This Royal Bee home is made from AC Cardstock in Butter, Coffee, Blush, Spearmint, Melon and Chestnut.

I used a Sizzix Honeycomb embossing folder on the panels and decorated with patterned paper from DCWV Samantha Rose. I also used some Rose Gold Glitter paper for the flower stamens as well as the little crown (found in the Silhouette Design Store design ID #10713 by Alaa’K) on the bee’s head. All edges are inked with Distress Ink in matching colors as well as highlighting the Honeycomb pattern.

Furthermore I used some wood patterned paper from the same DCWV stack on the base of the Hive.

Now to wait for darkness so I can see it lit up by a LED candle πŸ™‚

It’s a bit of a time consuming project but it’s so worth it and if you’re making more than one, you’ll get the hang of it and be done a lot quicker. Especially the little bee takes some time but GOSH she is so adorable ❀

I used ordinary vellum for the wings and embossed them with a Cuttlebug Twig patterned embossing folder and for her eyes I used some tiny black enamel dots from my stash.

Next up is theΒ Honey Jar:

Following the same colors as before, this is made in AC Cardstock Butter, Spearmint and Latte.

I decorated with the same DCWV stack – Samantha Rose – and used the same embossing folder on the yellow panels as well as the same Distress Ink.

Furthermore I used my Foil Quill to write “Honey” on the label using Rose Gold Foil from Couture Creations and tied a hemp cord around the jar.

Finally I added three tiny enamel dots on the lid.

This one is a lot faster to make and is very easy – and what a pretty jar to give away as a hostess gift or as gift wrapping πŸ™‚

Here’s the Hive and Jar together:

That was it for me today – now to relax a tiny bit before bedtime – I’ve have been quite buzy πŸ˜‰

Thanks for visiting. I do hope you’ll leave me a small comment below – I really love the feedback ❀
