Tick Tock…..

I am finally getting into the game again. Being sick is just horrible for someone like me. Someone who always has to have something to make….to create….to play with. Being forced to lay in bed for a week is torture not to mention one more week of endless coughing, sneezing and a brain that’s just gone completely blank. URG!

Well finally there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I managed to stay up and do a bit of crafting. And I threw myself at Dreaming Tree’s cute little Dogwood Mantel Clock:

DSC_0013

I used AC Cardstock in Chestnut to make the clock along with patterned paper from Graphic 45 “Rare Oddities” and some wood patterned paper from Kaisercraft. I also used some gold pearl paper for some of the clock detail and more pearl paper in mint, purple and light purple for the flowers. Finally I found some large jewels in my stash for the center of the flowers.

The only thing I thought that was missing for this clock, was the ability to light it up from the inside, so I made it possible by cutting the clock face through all the front layers and added some vellum behind the clock face.

Now I can tell time in the dark too 😉

This was such a nice little rebound project for me and I feel somewhat like my old self again – about time!!!

Thanks for joining me – please remember to leave a small comment if you liked my little project.

Springtime Love

Hello and a very happy Sunday to you 🙂

Do you feel it too? Spring is on the way 🙂 The days are getting longer, the light is returning with all the little flowers….the snow is melting away (if you had any….don’t get me started) Yup the signs are all there….even if it might take some time yet to call it Spring.

Well that doesn’t mean that you can’t have Spring inside the house. And in my home, I have started decorating for Spring. That is way I needed to make this adorable Candle Heart Cutout 3D Boxes from SnapDragon Snippets.

DSC_0002

I used AC Cardstock in White along with patterned paper from Maja Design “Celebration” Then I tied some hemp cord around it and decorated with some Prima flowers from my stash and a little 3D butterfly sticker I also found hiding in my craft supplies.

DSC_0008

It may not look like it, but it was totally easy to make and assemble – even if you are new to paper crafting and Jodi, who designed this, has a great tutorial for you to follow. It’s so versatile – can be used for Mothers Day, Valentines Day, Birthdays, Weddings etc.

Well I’m off to unpacking after a 3 day trip to Amsterdam with my family – a fun but very busy little trip.

Thanks for joining me today

Halloweenish Urne

You know me. I just had to. Halloween is only 8 month away…..better get started on some projects to make it in time 😀

I realized that the Heart Shaped Lantern from Bird’s Truly, Madly, Deeply Collection kinda looks like an urne so naturally I thought of Halloween.

I changed out the pattern again like with the Moroccan Lantern I made and voila!:

DSC_0002

I found the skull pattern in the Silhouette Design Store ID #48665 and after a lot of modifying, welding and playing around, I was satisfied.

DSC_0004

The Lantern is made from AC Cardstock in Black and Shadow along with Vellum.

I rubbed some Prima Brass Metallic Wax onto the panels to resemble rust as if the urne was made of metal/iron.

DSC_0006

I also embossed the lid panels with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and finally I placed a color-shifting LED light inside.

DSC_0008

Come Halloween I’ll be ready 😀

Thanks for joining me today and please don’t forget to leave me a small comment ❤

Pucker Up

Believe me!…..this is very unusual for me 😀 Here is a Valentines Day post from me 😀

I could swear that I would never post anything pink, red and gooey but I just got a new toy: The Cricut Maker. So naturally I had to play.

I know absolutely nothing about the Design Space – the Maker’s software, so I had to find things to play with to learn and this cute Lips Gift Box from Bird’s SVGs was just perfect.

DSC_0014

I made the box from AC Cardstock in Rouge and red pearl paper. It is really really easy to make and assemble.

Then I filled it with chocolates:

DSC_0012

Now ready for someone 😀 LOL

Making this really teached me a thing or two about the Maker and love a lot of the features…..I’ll keep playing 🙂

Happy Valentines Day to all of you ❤

Happy Birthday Mom!

My Mom’s birthday is tomorrow and I just want to show you what I made for her (we celebrated today so now it’s ok for me to show you 😀 )

Dreaming Tree recently released the Cupid Crush Bundle and this is where you’ll find the Love Blossom Pop Up Card. DSC_0004

I did alter my version a bit – leaving out some of all the hearts. I also added three flowers from the Apple Blossom Lantern,  also from Dreaming Tree, to the front of the card.

I made the card itself from a piece of Prima “Raspberry Tea Collection” paper. Then I added some white pearl paper that I embossed with a Tuscan Tile pattern.

The flowers are made from AC Cardstock in Rosebud and Shrimp and the leaves are in Grass. Then I added some white pearls along with some gold sequins, Doodlebug jewels and a gold embellishment I happened to have in my stash.

The card is a pop up card and here’s a look of the inside of the card:

DSC_0006

It was this gorgeous lush flower that sold this card to me!

I made it from vellum that I inked with Prima chalk ink. The flower center is made from green vellum and the leaves are AC Cardstock in Grass and Key Lime.

So that was the card.

I also made her a flower decoration:

DSC_0002

This is the Mothers’s Day Bon Bon Bouquet again from Dreaming Tree.

I changed out the heart on the front with a Peony flower from the Peony Gift Box also a Dreaming Tree design.

The box is made from AC Cardstock in White and decorated with panels made from Prima “Raspberry Tea Collection” paper.

The Peony is made from AC Cardstock in Rosebud and Cotton Candy with leaves in Leaf and the center is Banana.

The Bon Bon Flowers are made from AC Cardstock in Rosebud, Shrimp, Cotton Candy, Latté and Robin’s Egg and the leaves and tendrils are made from Leaf and Mint.

All edges are inked with Prima Chalk ink.

I’m very sure my Mom loved it – she loves everything that I make her 😀

Happy 69’th Birthday tomorrow Mom!

Winter Kisses

Thanks for joining me today 🙂 Just wanna show a little something I made inspired by all the love floating around these days and yet I want to keep it un-Valentined 😀

The other day I went shopping on a Danish webshop that sells American candies among other stuff and I found some Hersheys Kisses. That made me think of the Chocolate Kiss 3D Box from SnapDragon Snippets and voila!

DSC_0010

This baby is so incredible easy to make! I used some grey pearl cardstock and AC Cardstock in Chocolate to make the box and made and added on some panels in silver foiled paper, that I embossed with a crackled pattern. Then I made the tag with the print and cut function on my Silhouette Cameo along with the small cute winter images that I clued onto the chocolate. I found these in the Silhouette Design Store id #70871 and #70219.

Just the thing for a winter-lover like me 🙂

Now I need to hide the rest of the kisses, cause my eldest son has now developed a taste for them.

Have an awesome weekend – hope you get a lot of crafting done 🙂

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Hello and Happy Sunday!

Welcoming February and hoping it will bring some snow. Oh I miss snow! Winter in Denmark is not what it once was. Back in the ’80ties we had some huge snowstorms….and a couple in the ’90ties too but now it’s just rain, wind and a whole lot of grey 😦

Maybe my need for snow is what gave me this idea for the Wardrobe 3D Box Decor (this file comes in two parts) from Snapdragon Snippets

DSC_0010

Remember the tale of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and how the kids went to a magical land inside the wardrobe? – There was snow!!!

I just knew that was what I was going to make of the wardrobe.

I used AC Cardstock in Chestnut  and wood patterned paper to make the wardrobe and I found some hinges from Tim Holtz, a lock also from Tim Holtz, a drawer handle and some metal ornaments to decorate with.

DSC_0016

I also made a little sign to point to the direction of Narnia – the Magical land inside the Wardrobe

DSC_0014

The handle on the door is made from a metal ornament on which I glued a black resin flower.

Finally I decorated  the top of the drawer with a ornament frame in metal with a picture of Aslan – “the Great Lion of Narnia” as another clue to my wardrobe.

DSC_0012

Now my only wish is to be able to disappear into the wardrobe to experience the gorgeous wintery forrest that hides behind the door.

Thanks for joining me today – I hope to see lots of other versions of this wonderful Wardrobe box that Jodi G. Warner made and please remember to let me know what you think of this project.

Moroccan Lantern

What is more fun, that being able to make something your own. To be able to alter one design into something more you or something that speaks to you more. How ever you want to put it….it’s fun and challenging 🙂

I got the opportunity, when Bird released her new collection Truly, Madly, Deeply . And it was indeed a challenge! I used most of day and a night to figure out how to change the pattern in the Heart Shaped Lantern and I think I pulled it off rather nicely:

DSC_0018

Now this is not for newbies! You have to use several features in the Silhouette software like release compound path, cropping and welding and eventually you end up with something you like 😀 The only thing I’m not satisfied with, is that I would like to have the main patterned be an offset of the panel pattern – like Birds lantern – but I simply couldn’t make that happen. The pattern I’m using is Moroccan Background by Ginny Nilson design ID #11449 in the Silhouette Design Store but you can use lots of other backgrounds or patterns. Just play around with it.

I used AC Cardstock in Grape along with patterned paper from Graphic 45’s Midnight Masquerade and vellum in Teal to make the lantern.

DSC_0020

I decorated it with a butterfly from Prima and flowers also from Prima.

DSC_0022

I definitely had fun with this one and love that Bird’s files are so versatile and can be altered into something different. Give it a shot!!!!

And how about this night shot:

Gorgeous isn’t it?
