New Years Eve Decorations

Hello again and Happy Sunday.

It’s New Years Eve tonight (Yay) and that is a special occasion around my house. My hubby and two boys are more excited for this evening than for their Birthday or even for Christmas. So naturally we make a big deal out of it – even if we’re only 4 or 5 people around to celebrate it.

Every year I make decorations for New Years Eve and some is kept for next year and some don’t survive (yes it gets pretty wild around here)

This year I set my eyes on the new Candles in Three Sizes for LED Tea Lights from an upcoming kit from SVG Attic. Watch for it in a set next summer for early Christmas crafting. You can also find the Candles in the Snapdragon Snippets store or in the Silhouette Design Store.

DSC_0009

These are very easy to make and I made all three in a jiffy. I decided, that since they are meant as decor for New Years Eve, I not only wanted them to be candles but to look like small crackers/fireworks as well. The little “fuse” or paper flame is included with the candles and is simply assembled by rolling it on a pencil or something similar and gluing the tube together. Then curl the long strips. I just put it over the LED flame but you can also glue it inside the candle hole.

I made the candles in AC Cardstock in Black and decorated them with AC POW glitter paper with a chevron pattern in silver.

And what is New Years Eve without  Champagne or Champagne glasses?

So I made two 3D Champagne Glasses from the JGW New Years Celebration kit

DSC_0002

I didn’t use acetate on mine or decorated them with gems or stones but kept them in the same color scheme as the rest of my decorations: Black, White and Silver. I don’t plan for using them for candy but I might use them as candle holders – a LED Tea Light fits perfectly in them.

I used AC Cardstock in White for the glasses and decorated them with AC POW glitter paper in Silver and Black. On the top of the glasses I put some glitter washi tape from my stash.

I must say that these were also very easy to make. The trick is to use a pencil or wooden dowel inside the stem as it helps to hold the top onto the stem and makes it more sturdy.

But wait…..there is more 😀

Next is the Rocket Lantern from Dreaming Tree.

DSC_0007

This was very easy to make and I didn’t change much except the colors, left out the pipe cleaners and added some extra stars.

It is made from AC Cardstock in Black and decorated with AC POW glitter paper in Silver. I added a color shifting LED light into the rocket and it’s ready to fly 😉

Then I made a banner:

DSC_0007

This one I found in the Silhouette Design Store (design #64583) and it’s designed by Lori Whitlock. I just love the intricate design – almost looks like lace and I found it perfect for my New Years Eve decor. It’s written in Danish and says “Happy New Year” 🙂

I made it in Black AC Cardstock and backed it with silver glitter paper – don’t you think it’s unbelievably beautiful? This one can last some years as I didn’t write any numbers on it 😉

Instead I made those numbers  – 2018 – from Lori’s 3D Simple Numbers that also found in the Silhouette Design Store (#125495)

DSC_0011

I stayed true to my color scheme and made them in AC Cardstock in Black and White along with POW Silver glitter paper. My intention is to let a LED Light String run through the letters for some extra attention 😉 I also think I might have to use a pop dot to hold them upright through out the night 😉

I also made a bottle tag 😀

DSC_0004

This one can also be found in the Silhouette Design Store (design #239620), is designed by Daniela Moscone and is very straightforward to make. I used pop dots on the 1 and the 0 for some effect.

It’s made of AC Cardstock in White and Black along with POW glitter paper in Silver and Black.

Finally I made place cards and these I also found in the Design Store (design #238336) and they are designed by Studio Ilustrado.

DSC_0013

I altered them a bit by removing the clock and making the zero in several layers to make a shaker card effect and used some black glitter along with silver stars inside. The card itself is also made from AC Cardstock in Black and White with POW Silver glitter paper.

I hope I can show you some before and after shots of the table and the decor (so you can see the mayhem and destruction 😀 )

Well that was what I had to show you today. I wish a Happy New Year to all of you and hope to see you a lot more in 2018

Update:

The promised before and after shot:

A Toast To Your New Year

Hello and thanks for joining me today.

I just want to show you the card I made for my friends Birthday (it’s today: Happy Birthday Sys!)

Usually I don’t want to make Christmas themed cards for people who has Birthday around Christmas or New Year themed cards for those, who’s Birthday is close to the New Year, because I think it important that their Birthday be celebrated like everyone else’s. But in this case I made an exception.

DSC_0008

This card is from the JGW New Years Celebration kit and I saw two meanings in the sentiment – One for toasting in the New Year and one for toasting in somebody’s new year…..a Happy Birthday.

I made the card in Black and White AC Cardstock along with gold pearl paper, gold and silver AC POW glitter paper and gold and silver adhesive foil from Silhouette. Then I simply added some small bubble gems from Queen & Co. and Voila!

I gave my friend this card along with a bottle of bubbly Asti Spumante so she has something to toast in the New Year and her new year 🙂

Thanks for joining me today – please come back tomorrow where I’ll show you some of my New Years Eve decorations I just made. Oh and please don’t forget to write me a little comment 😉

Christmas Centerpiece

Merry Christmas and happy 4th Sunday of Advent.

Today I want to show you the centerpiece I made for tonights Christmas Eve Table. The amazing Corn Husk Candle Ring from the JGW Autumn Aire kit.

DSC_0033

I made it with Crepe paper in Gold instead of the corn husks (these are not available in Denmark) and AC Cardstock in Caramel.

It is so easy to make and with the crepe paper its so fast too. All you have to do with the paper is to curl it and glue it onto the ring.

Then I added a LED candle in the middle and decorated it with some hemp and rhinestone-look-alike ribbon. That’s it.

DSC_0036

Now it matches the rest of the table that I’ve chosen to keep in gold this year.

So now I’m off to celebrate Christmas Eve with my Family and I want to wish each and everyone of you a Merry Christmas and hope all your wishes comes true. It has been a fabulous dec. with lots of beautiful craft projects and I hope you got to make all of yours as I did mine. See you on the other side for New Years.

Update: Here’s a few pictures of how the table settings looked last night 🙂

Welcome little hatchling……

……and welcome little baby Cooper.

My gift for the Daley’s latest newcomer is the cute T-Rex 3D figure and it’s 3D Dino Egg from the JGW Dino Dig kit:

DSC_0002

The entire project is made from AC Cardstock in Leaf, Spinach, Key Lime,  Vanilla, White, Mulberry, Pomegranate, Sky and Blue Jay.

I happened to have some lime brads in my stash that could be used for the assembly.

I used some blue/white twine to tie the tag unto the egg and all edges are inked with Prima Ink pads.

This might look intimidating but seriously it’s sooooo easy to make. The tutorial for the assembly is right here for the egg and here for the T-Rex.

Right after Christmas I’ll be shipping these across the pond to the US and to the cute baby boy. The egg, that’s now empty after the T-Rex hatched, might hold a tiny surprise for the darling Cooper ❤

Congrats on your perfect and healthy baby boy Mike and Kenzie and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your Family 🙂

Yuletide Greetings

Hello again 🙂 So nice of you to come back again 🙂

Today I’m going to show you the cards I made for the gift bags and presents I made for my girlfriends.

Really I had stopped making Christmas cards since it’s so difficult to send and waaay to expensive, but since I gave the bags away last Friday at my Birthday party, I thought it only fitting to have a card along with the presents.

And I just had to make these cards! I’m talking about SVGCuts’ Yuletide Box Cards. I fell in love with these instantly and how awesome is it that they are so easy and fast to make.

First of the Star Box Card:

DSC_0006

It’s made from White AC Cardstock and decorated with White Glitter cardstock from Best Creation and Gold Foil. I simply added a small star gem in the middle – it really didn’t need anything else.

Then there’s the Nativity Box Card:

DSC_0008

This is made from White AC Cardstock and decorated with gold foil and gold glitter paper along with patterned paper from Dovecraft “Time to Sparkle”

On to the Gingerbread House Box Card:

DSC_0010

This cutie is made from AC Cardstock in Chocolate and decorated with White Glitter Paper from Best Creation and different dots the colored ones from Doodlebug Design. Oh it’s so yummy 😛

Next is the Rooftops Box Card:

This card is made from White, Black and Banana AC Cardstock and decorated with patterned paper from Dovecraft “Time to Sparkle” I also painted on some Stickles Glitter glue to make it look frosty 🙂

Finally I made the Amaryllis Box Card (my favorite)

DSC_0012

This card is made from AC Cardstock in Vanilla, Rouge, Crimson, Pine and Spinach and decorated with patterned paper from Dovecraft “Time to Sparkle” and gold foil. I added some small dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flower centers.

I really hope the girls are happy with the small gift I made for them. I just didn’t feel like leaving them out of the joy of giving ❤

Thanks for stopping by and I really hope you too enjoyed the projects I made and that it gave you some inspiration for making your own presents.

Star Presents

Hello again 🙂 So happy you’re here today

I promised I would let you see the presents inside the giftbags I showed you Saturday and here they are:

DSC_0032

The Star Gift Box is from Bird’s SVGs You’re a Star SVG Collection and the Poinsettia is the one from Bird’s White Christmas SVG Collection.

I downsized the box to 75% and made the Poinsettia to fit. I used AC Cardstock in White for the box and some of the Poinsettia and AC Cardstock in Spinach for the Poinsettia leaves. Then I decorated the box with papers from Maja Design and Riddersholm Design to match the giftbags and added a small Vivi Gade jewel in the flower center. I used Best Creation Glitter paper for the smallest flower and I also used Stickles Holly Glitter Glue on the Poinsettia leaves. What I put inside the boxes is a secret 😉

Here are some close-ups of the boxes:

Belongs To Frosty

Hello and happy 3rd Sunday in Advent.

Today I want to show you the cute Christmas decoration I made using the hat from the JGW Frosty Topper kit.

DSC_0004

This was both a challenge and so much fun to make.

I used AC Cardstock in Black and Charcoal for the hat and added the snowflake made from double-sided adhesive sprinkled with glitter to make it look frosty.

DSC_0006

Then I went to town with Fir Sprigs in Forrest AC Cardstock and Leafy Sprigs in Spinach along with a Pinecone in Chestnut AC Cardstock.

DSC_0008

I also made him a Corncob 3d Pipe in AC Cardstock Butter and Caramel and two thick buttons in Sky, Blue Jay, Chestnut and Chocolate Cardstock and tied some white raffia onto them as string.

Finally I added some different decor pieces like the berries, the small glass baubles and the Spanish moss and Voila! It was done.

Usually I haven’t got the first idea on how to make a Christmas Decoration – but I think I got away with this one – don’t you?

Thanks for joining me today….Christmas is almost here, but I still have a few things up my sleeve.

Flaky Gifts

Hello – so nice of you to drop in 🙂

Today I want to show you some giftbags I made for my girlfriends. We usually give each other Christmas presents, but this year is different due to different circumstances, so most of them are skipping it this year. Well that doesn’t stop me from giving something to them! So I made the following giftbags:

DSC_0022

This giftbag is the one from Bird’s SVGs Home for Christmas SVG Collection. I used Maja patterned paper “I wish”, “Joyous Winterdays” and “Vintage Frost Basics” and Best Creation Glitter cardstock in white. For the handle I used a thick hemp cord.

The following bags are the same giftbag but I changed the snowflake in the middle. I used the freebie snowflakes and simply made an offset of the flake and welded it to a circle. Might take a bit of trying but you’ll get the hang of it in no time. I use Silhouette Cameo for cutting.

DSC_0020

This bag is made from Danish Riddersholm patterned paper “The Day Before” and some shimmery paper from my stash.

DSC_0018

This bag is also made from Riddersholm paper and shimmery paper 🙂 I also want to mention that I altered the snowflake a tiny bit by adding some circles.

DSC_0028

This bag is made from Maja “Vintage Frost Basic” paper and glitter POW paper from AC.

DSC_0030

The same goes for this beautiful bag 🙂

blå gavepose

Finally for this bag I used “Joyous Winterdays” from Maja Design and the snowflake is made from self-adhesive glitter paper from Artemio.

These bags are so awesome for gift giving but can also be used as luminaries 🙂

DSC_0006

That’s it for today 🙂 Stay tuned for the gift inside the bags coming up early next week 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and please let me know what you think of the bags ❤

Hanging Poinsettia

Hello and thanks for stopping by 🙂

Today I want to show you a hanging decoration I made using the beautiful poinsettia from Bird’s SVGs White Christmas Collection:

DSC_0004

I made the same Poinsettia with holly and pine as the 5″ by 7″ card but enlarged it to fit the 12″x12″ cutting mat. So it’s pretty big 🙂

I also made it double sided so it can hang in a window and be seen from both sides. This makes it pretty thick and sturdy as well.

I used AC Cardstock in Pine, Crimson, Forrest and Rouge along with some patterned cardstock in a lighter green. I also used White Best Creation Glitter Cardstock and some self-adhesive glitter cardstock from Artemio in green.

Finally I simply punched a hole in a top berry to thread my string and voila! It’s ready to hang.

Thanks for stopping by today – be sure to visit soon as I’m showing more Christmas projects in the following days 🙂 Oh and please leave a small comment for me 😉

The Joy of Giving

Hello and happy 2nd Sunday of Advent

Today I want to show you a beautiful gift box I made from the new kit by SVG Attic called JGW Christmas Botanica

DSC_0023

The Poinsettia 3D Flower Topped Box is perfect for a small hostess gift or even a Christmas gift.

I made the box in AC Cardstock in Rouge, Crimson, Olive and White and decorated it with patterned paper from Swedish Maja Design Paper “I Wish” and Best Creation White Glitter Paper.

DSC_0025

I inked all the edges with chalk ink from Prima and sprinkled some Glass Glitter Gold Rush from Finnabair onto the flower center. Finally I added some gold glitter dots to the snowflake.

DSC_0029

I can’t wait to be giving this one away…..

Thanks for joining me today – I still have lots of projects to show you so don’t stray too far 😉
