Colorful Christmas

Today I want to show a small project I’ve been meaning to make for quite some time now. I admit I was a bit intimidated by it, but lately some of my projects have been rather challenging so I looked at it again and thought: Naaahhhh you can do it!

I’m talking about the cute Candy Cane Box from the JGW Santas Repose kit from SVG Attic.

DSC_0024

It’s made from Rouge AC Cardstock and the stripes are some thin washi tape I found in my stash. Made it very easy to wrap.

The pinecone is made from Chestnut AC Cardstock and decorated with two types of glitter so it looked frosted.

DSC_0030

Finally the holly is made from Pine and Spinach AC Cardstock and decorated with Cricket POW Glitter paper from AC.

DSC_0032

I am really surprised how easy everything was to make and assemble – what was I fearing???? Sometimes you just have to tell that head of yours to be quiet and dive in! 😉

I stuffed this baby full of red, green and purple Skittles and it’s all ready as gift for a lucky someone.

Thanks for stopping by today – ahead is a full month of Christmas with lots of creative projects, yummy treats and lots of cozy moments with friends and family…..Oooooooh I’m so excited!

Snowy Swirls

Sometimes I just can’t believe how alike some of us think. Like this project I’m about to show you.

I made mine a while back and really thought “Hey! This is an awesome idea nobody before me has thought of”……until Lee Cox released her blog post with the gorgeous Gingerbread House Clock she made in red, white and brown (check it out here)

Yup great minds think alike (ha ha ha or just crazy minds) and she had made one just like it too. I’m talking about the 3D Swirly Christmas Tree (a freebie found here)

DSC_0012

She too had made it into a 3D creation by gluing six trees together. I just added a second layer of Best Creation White Glitter paper. This was made by making an internal offset of the tree – mine is 1 cm (0.039″)

Such an easy project that looks beautiful during the day and at night…….

DSC_0006

…it’s gorgeous!!!

Thanks for stopping by today and please remember to leave me a small greeting 🙂

Time for Christmas

It’s getting closer and closer 🙂 And I for one am like a child – I can’t wait.

Talking about Christmas in all it’s glory, glitter and coziness ❤

One of my new Christmas decorations is the Gingerbread House Clock from Bird’s Christmastime SVG Collection:

DSC_0010

The house itself is made from AC Cardstock in Caramel and decorated with White Glitter Paper from Best Creation and pink/rose colored POW Glitter paper from AC. The base is made from White AC Cardstock and the panels are patterned paper from My Minds Eye “Colorful Christmas”. The vellum is from a local craft store and is patterned with white swirls.

I embellished with different sizes of white glitter domes and painted the second hand with a white sharpie and rose colored Stickles glue.

As I was thinking it would be awesome to tell time at night also, I cut out the numbers on the watch through all the layers and added some vellum behind – works like a charm 😉

DSC_0008

Love this Gingerbread House Clock. It’s tick tock’ing away in my living room and is a gorgeous addition to all my other luminary Christmas Decorations.

Thanks for stopping by today – I’ll be back soon with another Christmas project 😉

White Gold

You’ve seen me mention this before: I LOVE snow – the white gold from above. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this will be the year for some serious snow cover for several month so I can get my need covered 😉

This love of snow and a lady on Facebook (Cindy Jones) are what made my otherwise crazy brain, come up with an idea for my Christmas Dinner Table.

Every year I make place cards – just because I can 😉 If I didn’t, my kids would throw a fit. I make them every time for Birthdays, Christmas and New Years.

As I mentioned my idea sprung partly due to Cindy Jones from one of the craft group I’m in on Facebook. She made a beautiful version of Bird’s Snowflake Easel Card (found as a freebie here) and I instantly knew how to make my place cards:

DSC_0007

It is downscaled 50% from the original and I used Vanilla AC Cardstock along with Best Creation White Glitter Paper and some gold glitter paper from my stash. I popped the name tag on with pop dots and added a small diamond gem to the middle of the snowflake. As easy as that.

So what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

I’m Dreaming Of A White Christmas…..

….or even one in rainbow colors 😉

No seriously! It has been a looooong time since we’ve had a white Christmas here in Denmark and I really long for the white gold. But so far all we have is grey, windy and chilly weather. Yuk 😦

So I have to escape to fantasy land to get my White Christmas. What luck that you can find just that at 3dcuts.com. Last Christmas I decorated my table with the cute little white houses but this year Marji Roy made a Hexagon Base to display the little winter town. I got my base at 3dcuts.com but all the little houses in the Silhouette Design Store. I do have to mention that the Skating Rink is not part of the Tea Light Village but one I found in the Silhouette Design Store (#102105) and I sized it down to match the houses.

So here it is:

DSC_0011

The entire town is made from White AC Cardstock. I did spray the base and the roofs with some glitter but it’s hard to see in the pics.

My display is made for my dresser so I didn’t have to worry about the backside of it.

I also a string of fairy lights and I went with multicolored…..This was a great decision! Just look how pretty it is lit at night:

DSC_0004

Now my little town has really come to life and my dream of a white and a rainbow colored Christmas has come true.

Here are some more pics of the lit town:

Thanks for joining me today – please remember to leave a little comment for me ❤

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus…..

….this is definitely one tune that a lot of kiddos can sing this Christmas 😉 Especially since Bird of Bird’s SVGs made a gorgeous Mistletoe in her newest collection Christmastime.

I made mine with nine layers to make it a bit more fluffy and full. I used AC Cardstock in Spinach and White and it’s hard to see but I did add some glitter to the berries as frost. Now I expect LOTS of kisses from Santa 😉

DSC_0013

I tried sneaking a couple of kisses out of my eldest boy as I explained what the tradition with the Mistletoe is – but heck no!!!! When you’re 13 you just don’t kiss your Mommy anymore – only (if you’re ever so lucky) a peck on the cheek. *SIGH* Just have to rely on my youngest boy now and of course my “hubby”/Santa.

That’s all I wanted to show you today…..Happy Friyay, hoping you’ll have a great weekend ❤

Winter Fun

Hello! If you’re anything like me, you can’t wait for the white gold to start falling and for Jack Frost to make nature sparkle and glitter. Winter is definitely my favorite season (that is when it behaves the way it should and not the foggy, rainy, warm winter) so that is what it’s all about today.

I just couldn’t help myself to make the cute Igloo from the SDS Frosty Friends kit

DSC_0001

It is made out of AC Cardstock in White and Blueberry and decorated with Sparkle Paper in White and Maja Design Paper “Joyous Winterdays”. Just follow the instructions found here and you’ll be all set – easy peasy!

I also wanted the Igloo to look inhabited, so I made a small sled for the owner.

DSC_0006

The sled is from the JGW Made of Snow kit. It’s made of AC Cardstock in Chocolate, Slate and Black along with some wood patterned paper from KaiserKraft. I used a tiny black brad for the steering pad and some twine. The small rivets are made from small dots of Enamel Accent from Tim Holtz. I did size this one down to match the size of the Igloo. You find the tutorial for the sled here.

The owner is also keen on skis, so I made him a pair from the JGW Winter Wonderland Wreath

DSC_0012

These skis are made a bit bigger to match the size of the Igloo and sled and are made from AC Cardstock in Chocolate and Charcoal and with patterned paper from KaiserKraft. These are soooo easy to make and you find the tutorial here.

At night the igloo lights up with a cozy light 😉

DSC_0006

So now the small but lucky owner of the Igloo is ready for the upcoming frosty season and I look forward to many more cool and glittery projects in my warm and cozy craft room 🙂

Thanks for visiting today – please leave a small comment on your way out ❤

Snowy Trees

Hello! 🙂 Just a small post to show you the two different trees I made out of Bird’s Snowflake Tree from her newest and absolutely gorgeous collection Christmastime.

First I made the tree the way Bird intended it to be:

DSC_0010

I made it out of White AC Cardstock and the star is made from DCWV’s Mercury Glass Collection.

Here seen from above:

DSC_0015

As you can see it’s very symmetrical ❤

Then I tried to mess things up and make a tree that is asymmetrical:

DSC_0005

This tree is also made from White AC Cardstock but the star is made from Gold Pearl Paper. This tree is a bit fuller but still gorgeous. All I did was turn the center hole 45 degrees in every other snowflake.

Here’s a top view:

DSC_0014

I can’t decided which I love the most and I really dig the idea of how you can play around with this tree any way you want. You can even make it rainbow colored ❤

Thanks for stopping by today – I hope you can use my little idea and please comment on it below ❤ Time for playing with the rest of the kit 😉

Don’t Do This At Home Kids!…..

Luckily tiny things don’t take up much space – so after years of crafting I finally (well overdue) have come to the conclusion to make some of the fab structures and houses from my favorite designers in half size.

It is definitely not without problems to size down projects and with a few of the houses I’m about to show you, the structures came out somewhat crooked. But it’s a small price to pay and now I have room for show and storage 🙂

Starting off with the beautiful Church from the Silent Night Kit by SVGCuts:

DSC_0002

The Church is made from AC Cardstock in White and Pine along with patterned paper from the Swedish company Maja Design (I Wish). The small bell is from Tim Holtz and I’ve inked all the edges with matching color chalk ink pads from Prima. The light is a string of LED lights found online. I also embossed the bell tower panels with a Sizzix embossing folder.

Next is the General Store from the Country Market Kit by SVGCuts:

DSC_0006

For this tiny cutie I used AC Cardstock in White, Rouge, Sky and Blueberry along with patterned paper from Maja Design (Joyous Winterdays). I inked all the edges with chalk ink pads from Prima and decorated the small signs with Sprinkles from Doodlebug Design. This one also contains a small string of lights found online.

Then I made the gorgeous Winter Lodge from the Winter Lodge Kit by SVGCuts:

DSC_0007

For this beauty I used AC Cardstock in White, Shadow and Coffee along with glitter and cobber paper. I also used Maja Design patterned papers (I Wish). The tiny shades I rubbed with cobber colored wax and the big window panel as well. I inked all the edges with chalk ink pads and added some cotton as chimney smoke. The top piece of the chimney was way to small to assemble so I left that out. I also made two tiny Christmas Trees for the planters (I used the “Take a Bough die from Concord & 9th.) and added to gems to the tiny lanterns to look like lights. The foundation panels are embossed with a embossing folder from Darice.

Next I made the Magnolia Manor from the Magnolia Manor Kit by SVGCuts:

DSC_0012

This is by far the most difficult of the houses. It was very difficult to assemble the very tiny pieces when making it half size. So it’s crooked in lots of places. I think it would have been awesome as a Halloween house decor 😉

I used AC Cardstock in White and Shadow along with patterned paper from Maja Design (I Wish). I also used Cobber paper and glitter paper (snow) All the edges are inked with chalk ink pads from Prima and since the house is very detailed, I didn’t think it needed any more decorations.

Finally I made the Mistletoe Manor from the Mistletoe Manor Kit also by SVGCuts:

DSC_0014

I must say that I think I got away with it somewhat better than the Magnolia Manor but the roof is still crooked.

I used AC Cardstock in White, Scarlet, Chocolate and Coffee along with patterned paper from Maja Design (I Wish). I also used White glitter paper for the snowy roof. All edges are inked with chalk ink pads from Prima. I made a tiny wreath for the door with a file from the Silhouette Design Store (design #69431) and added some small dots of Stickles Burgundy Glitter glue.

Pheww…..don’t do this at home kids! 😀

I’ve spent more than a week on the houses and I love ’em to death. Even hubby digs them (and that’s saying a lot from a guy living in a home FILLED with paper structures 😀 )

I did tear some hairs out on occasion and cursed and yelled when things didn’t go my way….but hey….what crafter doesn’t from time to time 😉
