….or at least Dec. 1st. is coming up real fast! Therefore I decided to make the gorgeous Gingerbread House Advent Calendar from Bird’s cute Countdown to Christmas SVG Collection
As you properbly know, I love color and I just had to add some to the Gingerbread House. So I decided to use the “Milk & Cookies” Collection from Doodlebug Design and as I was having trouble deciding which of the papers to use, the solution fell literally in my lab – the collection has a paper with all the countdown numbers on it 😀 How lucky and easy is that????
The Gingerbread House itself is made from (hold on….) 25 pieces of brown AC Cardstock and 3 or 4 white pieces. I added some icy Stickles Glitter Glue to the roofs and the icicles. I used different colored glitter brads as handles and finally I inked all the drawers with a white ink pad to make the stand even more out.
I did also add a few Sugarplums Sprinkles also from Doodlebug on the front door of the House which happens to be the 24th – Christmas Night here in Denmark where we celebrate Christmas and not on the 25th 😉
The construction of this Countdown Gingerbread House is sheer genius and it’s very easy to put together even though it might take a night or two of you time as there are lots of pieces to assemble. Just remember to watch Bird’s tutorial video, which you find on the product page 🙂
Now this house could stand alone, but I still thought it needed a little extra something, so I made the Tree Luminaries from Bird’s Home for Christmas SVG Collection:
For these trees I also used the Milk & Cookies Collection from Doodlebug Design and added some Icy Stickles Glitter Glue dots in strategic places to give them more shine 😉 The trunks are made from AC Cardstock that I embossed with a basket patterned embossing folder and added some Bronze Age Metallique Wax from Prima to make the pattern stand out.
Here’s a picture of the House and trees together. I really hope you like this project – I am totally in love with it ❤
Thanks for stopping by and remember to leave me a little comment please 🙂
