….and welcome back 🙂 Today I want to show you some Easter stuff I’ve been making. It’s pretty unusual that we decorate for Easter in our home, but this year Easter comes right along with Dans Birthday so why not make it a theme? All the items are from SVGCuts newest kit Happy Easter SVG Kit 🙂
First off I made the cutesy Bunny Marquee Sign:
Though it’s a bit difficult to see, I used Maja Designs wonderful collection Vintage Spring Basics and AC cardstock. The lights are from Heidi Swapp Marquee Love Collection and I purchased a string of 24 lights and some green medium bulb caps. Mary from SVGCuts did a wonderful job on this one….since its a rather complicated shape. It measures 7.5” wide, 12” high and 2″deep ( Approx.: 191 mm. x 305 mm. x 51 mm. ) 🙂
Next I made the Easter Basket:
I used paper from the same Maja Design Collection and AC Cardstock and for the bow I used raffia. The flower is several Prima flowers that I put together with a cute rose brad. This basket is pretty large and measures 6″ wide, 9.5” deep and 6″ deep. (Approx.: 152 mm. x 241 mm. x 152 mm.) I didn’t fill it all the way up with these chocolate/marzipan eggs (then it would weigh a ton) but put some shredded wood in as filler.
Then I made the Easter Egg Gift Box:
The papers is still Maja Design and I used raffia to tread the holes around the egg and for the bow. Then I added some Doodlebug sprinkles as decoration. This egg is also pretty large. It measures 5.5” wide, 7.5” high and 2.3” deep. ( Approx.: 140 mm. x 191 mm. x 59 mm.) I bet anyone would love to receive this egg filled with Easter treats…. Yummy 😛
Next I made the (not so) small Little Nest Favors:
I’m going to be using these as place cards for Dans Birthday. They are very simple to put together as they only consist of three pieces. The handle I made from a chenille stem that I wrapped first in florist tape and then in raffia in matching colors. These cuties measure 3.5” wide, 2″ high (6″ high with the handle), and 3.5“ deep. (Approx.: 89 mm. x 51 mm./152 mm. x 89 mm.) The tag is made from chalkboard vinyl and I used a white Sharpie to write the names. I used some more shredded wood as filler and I think I’ll be filling them with different Easter treats.
Finally I made the gorgeous Carrots Shadowbox:
This was somewhat trickier…..since I can’t buy shadow boxes in Denmark. But in my search, I came across this 3d Frame called KASSEBY from IKEA. It’s like a small cabinet with a hinged door on the front so it’s very easy to change the decor from time to time or season to season. I did not alter the size of the carrots for this project and I used raffia for the carrot tops. The background paper is from Kaisercraft called Base Coat Collection.
That was all I wanted to show you for now…..Since I’m going to be alone at home next week, I’m sure some more projects will form in my hands….
Please leave a comment and tell me what you think of these Easter Projects 🙂
