Box Cards

Eventhough its been a lovely day outside and I should have been out walking my rounds, I thought; What the heck…I need some rest after a busy week working out and walking around – so I’ll stay in and make some of all the box cards that I haven’t tried making yet.

Mary from SVGCuts makes the most gorgeous Box Cards. They are so easy to make and look like a billion bucks. She is very meticulous when making them and the details are incredible.

First one is the Castle Box Card from the Box Cards SVG Kit

I used paper from a Doodlebug Design collection called Hip Hip Hooray and I added a small fire breathing dragon from the Silhouette Online Store to add to the boyish fairytale theme. I bet this will be a big hit for a baby shower or a young boys birthday 🙂 It measures  2.75″ wide, 5.25″ high and 2.75″ deep (6.2″ x 5.25″ when folded flat) (approx.: 70 mm. x 133 mm. x 70 mm. / 158 mm. x 133 mm.) and the file includes an envelope.

Next I made the Kiss Me Box Card from the Feeling Lucky SVG Kit.

CSC_0014As we don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Denmark, I altered the card slightly into a Birthday Card. Papers are Happy-Go-Lucky Collection from Doodlebug Design and cardstock are from American Crafts. I blinged it up with some gems also from Doodlebug Design. Don’t you just love those rainbows??? The card measures 2.3″ wide, 6″ high and 3.2″ deep when standing (when folded flat, it measures 5.5″ wide and 6″ high). (Approx.: 59 mm. x 152 mm. x 81 mm. / 140 mm. x 152 mm.) Envelope is included in the file.

Then I made the Picnic Basket Box Card from the Summer Box Cards SVG Kit

CSC_0011

Here I used papers from a Polish company called Galeria Papieru They make the cutest papers and they are pretty cheep too …. totally win-win. I used papers from the As If In A Dream Collection and from the Tea For Two Collection and added some gems as grapes and flower centers. I found a cute little metal butterfly in my stash and a AC bow. The sentiment reads: Congratulations 😉 The card messures 3″ wide, 5.5″ high and 2.8″ deep (5.8″ x 5.5″ when folded flat) (Approx.: 76 mm. x 140 mm. x 71 mm. / 147 mm. x 140 mm.) Envelope is included in the file. Uhhh can’t wait for summer….and that wine looks delish 😀

Finally I made the Summer Fair Box Card also from the Summer Box Card SVG Kit.

DSC_0007 (3) Papers here are also from Galeria Papieru and are called Summer Time. I did sneak in a paper from Doodlebugs “Hip Hip Hooray” and I used gems from Doodlebug on the Ferris Wheel and enamel dots from Freckled Fawn. The Card measures 3.6″ wide, 5.7″ high and 2.8″ deep (6″ by 5.7″ when folded flat). (Approx.: 92 mm. x 145 mm. x 71 mm. / 152 mm. x 145 mm.) Envelope is included in the file. This is such a cute card that’s genious as a Birthday Card.

Spring Frame – Free File

Today I want to show you another great free file from Dreaming Tree – The Spring Frame

DSC_0001 (7)

As I really liked Leo’s picture of Pumpkin (his cat), I lifted the idea and made a frame to fit one of my favorite pictures of my fur babies Teemo and Timm. I used digital paper from Echo Parks collection “Meow” and AC Cardstock. Pure luck that I had the little picture printed out, ’cause I realized my Canon Selphy printer was not compatible with Windows 10, so now I have to go buy a new printer – figures!!! Anyways…just wanted to show you this great file that you can alter any way you like 🙂

Sorry…..

I’m not getting anything done today. My craft space is totally occupied….. 😳

As lots of other kitties, he believes he is the single most important being around and that all attention is to be on him. Actually he hardly ever lies down on my table to cuddle so I went with it. He usually just wants to stroll around my table or window ledge and play with my stuff. He and his sister really enjoys to push stuff of the table just to see what happens or to get attention. Oh I just love my furry bandits ❤️

Cute and simple Spring Cards

Today I needed to make something easy to unwind and unfry my brain a little… so I decided to give SVGCuts’ Free File Celtic Card a try. It is a very cute and simple card that you can decorate any way you want. I went with a Spring theme. The card cuts nice and smoothly on the Cameo and all the pieces fits perfectly together. You will need to work very fast when gluing the intricate piece (unless you have a spray glue or a tape machine) I used pop dots to give the cards some more dimension. The cards measures 5.7″ x 5.7″ (approx.: 145 mm. x 145 mm.) and the file includes an envelope as well.

The first one I made with a Spring Branch that I found in SVGCuts’ Mr. & Mrs. SVG Kit

IMG_3995

I used some small gems as flower centers.

The next one I made, I used a little cute Snowdrop flower that I found in SVGCuts  April Avenue SVG Collection

IMG_3994

I kept it simple but needed a little dimension to the flower as well as the label, so I used pop dots on the flower and embossed the label with a mesh patterned embossing folder.

The last card I made, I used a Daffodil bouquet also from the April Avenue Collection

I embossed the label with a basket weave embossing folder and used pop dots on the bow for dimension.

Aren’t they just cute and simple?

Sympathy Card

Today I got a request from a dear girlfriend of mine, to make a card for a funeral – ugggh! This is one of the things I don’t enjoy as much but of course I wanted to help her out. So what to do? I scanned my Silhouette files to find something suitable and came up with a beautiful card with a Calla Lily on it. Then I began deciding what colors to use (being a funeral card it has its limits) IMG_3988

After making it, I decided to switch out the Calla with another that looked much better and here is the result:

IMG_3989

The card is 178 x 254 mm in size (7″ x 10″) and the text reads: “With deepest sympathy.” My girlfriend liked it and I’m a happy little cookie ’cause this type of card is really hard to make due to its occasion. The card is designed by Suzanne Cannon (Calla Lily Card Design ID #78053) and the lily I used is designed by Ginny Nilson (Calla lily Design ID #4750) – both Silhouette artists.

Spring Box Cards

On a happier note I want to show the gorgeous box cards I made from SVGCuts newest kit Springtime Box Cards SVG Kit. They just scream SPRING and I love working with Mary’s files so of course I had to make them.

First of is the cute “Bird’s Nest Box Card”:

DSC_0002 (1)I used papers from Maja Design called “Vintage Spring Basics.” The colors were just right for the eggs and the panels.I inked athe leaves, stem and leaves with my Prima chalk pads to give it more dimension. It folds flat and measures  8.3” wide and 7″ tall. (approx.: 211 mm. x 178 mm.)

Next is the “Pansies Box Card”:

DSC_0006 (3)

Here I used Graphic 45 paper “Time to Flourish” and I had some small yellow flower shaped bads lying around that just fitted perfectly. I colored the center of the pansies with Promarkers to get the authentic look. The card measures 6.5” wide, 6.25” high (approx.: 165mm. x 159mm.) and also folds flat. Isn’t it an amazing design?

Ok next up is the “Tulips Box Card”:

DSC_0002 (3)

A very easy card to make and I also used Graphic 45 “Time to Flourish” paper for this. The one row of tulips comes with a reinforcement and I made two more for the other two rows so that the card would be more firm. I chalked the edges of the tulips with chalk pads to give them more dimension. This card also folds flat and measures 7.8“ wide and 6.2” high (approx..: 198mm. x 157,5mm.)

Finally I made the “Lucky Clovers Box Card”:

DSC_0003 (3)

Here I also used the “Time to Flourish” paper and some gold foil paper for the two panels on the front of the card. I chalked the edges of the clovers and used some small yellow pearls as center of the Snowdrop flowers. We do not celebrate Saint Patricks Day here in Denmark (unless you’re of Irish descend) but Snowdrops are a common early spring flower here and clovers are associated with luck so its just a perfect card for someone’s Birthday in February or March.  It too folds flat and measures  8.2” wide and 6.7” (approx.: 208mm. x 170mm.)

Free file challenge

Ok…who doesn’t want a free file? I know I do…..and here is your chance to get it too: Free Dreaming Tree File. On top of this, Leo from Dreaming Tree, has made a challenge with this file – Clover Treat Basket. All you have to do, is make the cute basket and submit a photo of it to Dreaming Tree (rules and terms under the link above) then you get a $2.99 gift card to Dreaming Tree FOR FREE. A lucky someone will also win a brand new cutting machine…..Yay!!!!

Here’s my entry:

DSC_0002 (6)

I changed it up a bit and now I can almost smell the luck of the Irish…..LOL! The paper I used is from Doodlebug Design and it’s called “Happy-go-Lucky” The flower is several small Prima flowers that I put together with a brad.

Now go make yours 🙂
